The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii feature an arsenal of weapons purpose-built for warriors of the Omnissiah. We’ve given an overview of the newest class in Darktide, but we didn’t go into detail about their weapons or abilities. And we’ll make up for that today as we talk about the shocking weapons of the Skitarii.
The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii bring in six new weapons that are exclusive to them. And each of them has a unique playstyle and special abilities that you can use to spread the righteous cleansing for the Omnissiah. So, let’s take a look at the weapons so that you can get to cleansing faster.
The Weapons Of The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii

The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii feature six exclusive weapons, three ranged weapons, and three melee weapons. All of these weapons look and function as you’d expect an Adeptus Mechanicus weapon to function, precise and high-tech. And what better way to get a closer look at these weapons than to start with the close-quarters melee weapons?
The Melee Weapons Of The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii
The Arc Maul
The Arc Maul absorbs voltaic energy into its embedded energy coil with each devastating swing. After gathering up enough energy, the Skitarii wielding this weapon can unleash its full potential with intense lightning arcs. The arcs this weapon can dish out make it an amazing choice for crowds of heretics.
While unpowered, each swing of the Arc Maul applies a five-second electrocuted debuff on each enemy hit. Targets affected by the electricuted debuff gain a 10% damage bonus and trigger additional arc lightning jumps. Speaking of arc, let’s talk about how you can unleash the full potential of this weapon.
While unpowered, special charges for the powered state accumulate over time and through successful hits on enemies. When you have at least one charge, you can activate the weapon, which doesn’t interrupt attack chains. While activated, attacks trigger an arc lightning discharge on the first enemy hit by each sweep, consuming a special charge.
Additionally, arc lightning deals a large amount of damage and applies the electrocuted debuff, and its damage and impact increase after each jump. The arc can jump to two enemies if the previous target was already affected by the electrocuted debuff. Not only that, but the Arc Maul gains a new push attack while powered up.
The Mechanicus Power Sword
The Mechanicus Power Sword is similar to the standard power sword in many aspects, but its differences will become apparent. Unlike the standard power sword, the Mechanicus Power Sword features a constant disruption field. Skitarii warriors can momentarily channel this field into devastating energised strikes.
The Mechanicus Power Sword can store up to six special charges, which are replenished over time with a short cooldown after each use. Each available charge provides a stack of 4% melee strength to all attacks, whether energised or otherwise. With the maximum amount of special charges, you can have a total of 24% extra melee strength.
When activating this weapon, you consume a charge and initiate the next attack in the combo chain, granting it energised properties. While energized, attacks have increased damage and armour damage against all armour types. Also, the special input has a few special interactions with how you attack.
If you release the special input immediately, the weapon will perform a light special attack. And if held, the weapon will enter the windup for a heavy special attack. If you maintain the windup for a longer period of time, the heavy special attack will accumulate up to four stacks of 12.5% melee strength, with a max of 50%.
The Paired Transonic Blades
Arguably, the most advanced melee weapon of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii is the Paired Transonic Blades. The Paired Transonic Blades consist of a long Transonic Blade with a nimble Transonic Razor, which make up this magnificent weapon. Regardless of which blade, both of these blades feature an astonishing ability.
The Paired Transonic Blades can swap their resonant attunement between two modes: Slayer and Dueller. Each resonant attunement features a different moveset, allowing you to increase your versatility. But having the ability to swap movesets isn’t the only thing that swapping attunements can do.
The Slayer attunement enhances damage, armour damage, and cleave against Unarmoured, Infested, and Maniac armour types. Slayer does worsen your offensive properties against any armour type not mentioned above, so make sure to choose the correct attunement. However, that’s what the other resonant attuement is for.
The Dueller attunement enhances damage, armour damage, and cleave against Unyielding, Flak, and Carapace armour types. Additionally, when swapping between these attunements while attacking, you enter a stance with Block properties. If you input an attack from this stance, you will perform a unique, powerful follow-up attack.
The Ranged Weapons Of The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii
The Arc Rifle
The first ranged weapon of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii that we’ll talk about is the Arc Rifle. This rifle is a heavy, electrocuting, slow-firing, fully-auto rifle with a high magazine capacity but slow reload speed. And given what its name is, you can probably guess what it can do while shooting.
The Arc Rifle can arc electricity to enemies it hits, similar to the Arc Maul and Arc Grenades. Shooting a target will damage and grant them the electrocuted debuff. However, if you hit an already electrocuted target, then an arc will get triggered to damage an additional target within proximity.
The various inputs for the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii Arc Rifle are as follows:
- Primary Fire: A fully automatic firing mode with a slow firing rate
- Secondary Fire: A braced stance that provides increased accuracy at the cost of mobility, and it makes arcs arc to an additional target.
- Special: A simple bash with the Arc Rifle to push away any enemies that come too close
The Galvanic Rifle
The Galavnic Rifle is an accurate, high-powered semi-automatic rifle with an unfortunately small clip. Essentially, the Galvanic Rifle is the Skitarii marksman rifle, but that’s certainly not a bad thing. Sadly, it doesn’t have much going for it, but it does have exceptional weakspot damage, so make sure to hit them to get the full effect.
The various inputs for the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii Galvanic Rifle are as follows:
- Primary Fire: A hip fire mode with an accurate first shot that quickly blooms out to inaccuracy. However, the bloom recovers quickly, so you can get accurate shots from the hip by pacing your shots well.
- Secondary Fire: Allows you to aim down sights for pinpoint accuracy at the cost of mobility
- Special: A forward thrust that jabs enemies in front of you to interrupt their attacks
The Mechanicus Phosphor Pistol
The one pistol for the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii, and it’s a powerful one at that. The Mechanicus Phosphor Pistol deals immense damage, but at the cost of limited ammunition. It t does have the bonus of featuring rounds filled with phosphor, which sticks to enemies and burns through armor and flesh.
Hitting an enemy with this pistol causes a small splash effect that can inflict the burning phosphor on enemies close to your initial target. Enemies with phosphor stuck onto them are more susceptible to damage and have reduced hit mass. Reduced hit mass means that you can cut through them much easier and reduces sweeping attack damage fall off.
The various inputs for the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii Mechanicus Phosphor Pistol are as follows:
- Primary Fire: Enables users to fire from the hip with decent accuracy, but with hefty recoil
- Secondary Fire: An aim-down-sights mode for improved accuracy but reduced mobility
- Special: A grip bash that staggers enemies in melee range
The Other Weapons For The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii
The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii class also gets access to a few existing weapons. These weapons should give you a bit more freedom with weapon choice than the six exclusive weapons could give you. However, I don’t recommend it, as the Skitarii weapons synergize with their exclusive class for a reason.
The various other weapons for the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii are as follows:
- Ranged Weapons:
- Infantry Autogun
- Braced Autogun
- Vigilant Autogun
- Heavy Laspistol
- Plasma Gun Mk II
- Quickdraw Stub Revolver
- Shredder Autopistol
- Melee Weapons:
- Assault Chainsword
- Devil’s Claw Sword
- Shock Maul
- Power Falchion
- Combat Blade
Is That All For The Weapons Of The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii?
That is indeed all there is for the weapons of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii. The selection of weapons for the new class is quite exquisite. Not only that, but they work well with the Skitarii’s abilities, so it’d be a bit strange to use any other weapon besides the ones made for the Skitarii.
However, I don’t doubt that there’s someone out there already trying to figure out an insane build without having to use those weapons. But you shouldn’t let anyone tell you how to play the game, so what are you waiting for? Deploy onto the filth-filled surface of Tertium and spread the word of the Omnissiah!
