Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is having its second open playtest, and it’s testing across all platforms this time instead of only on PC. The playtest begins this weekend on July 24, 2026, and concludes on July 27, 2026, which allows players to play as much as they want. Not only that, but the playtest offers a new map for players to try out.
Unfortunately, the Hell Let Loose: Vietnam playtest doesn’t offer much additional content beyond the new map. But it should hopefully provide a more stable experience compared to the previous, arguably disastrous playtest. And you can join the playtest alongside other players from different platforms for free, and here’s how you can do that.
How You Can Join The Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Crossplay Playtest
As mentioned, the Hell Let Loose: Vietnam crossplay playtest runs from July 24, 2026, to July 27, 2026. This gives players four days, including the weekend, to try out the newest playtest and its new map for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam. Hopefully, the developers optimized the game enough so players don’t constantly need to worry about their frames.
Though how can you join the open playtest coming in a few days, and what platforms can join in on the jungle fun? PC players need to go to the Steam page for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam and request access when the playtest goes live. PS5 and Xbox players need to search for and download the Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Playtest app when it goes live.
Unfortunately, an active PS+ or Xbox Game Pass Essential subscription is required to join the test. Once that’s settled, you can join in on the four days of humid jungle fun, but what can you expect in the latest playtest? Well, you already know the loadouts, vehicles, and commander support call-ins, but what about the new Đắk Tô Airfield map?
Đắk Tô Airfield is situated in Vietnam’s Central Highlands near the borders of Laos and Cambodia. Đắk Tô Airfield is a key U.S. forward operating base during the Vietnam War, or the American War for my Viet players. This airfield became a vital hub for aircraft, logistics, and troop deployments after the conflict at Hill 875.
Đắk Tô Airfield combines close-quarters and open fighting thanks to the heavy military fortifications and open airstrips, respectively. This map also features villages, hamlets, and open jungle throughout the entire map, so don’t think that the airfield is all you’ll get to explore. Though the airfield in Đắk Tô Airfield is definitely its main point of interest, it’s in the name.
Will This Be The Final Hell Let Loose: Vietnam Playtest?
Hopefully, this will be the final Hell Let Loose: Vietnam playtest, but we won’t know for sure until we see it for ourselves. The team behind Hell Let Loose: Vietnam was pretty confident last time, but they had to push the release date back so that they could fix and optimize the game. But if they’ve done a good job, then this should be the last one.
And if it is the last one, then you can expect to see Hell Let Loose: Vietnam released on August 13, 2026. Regardless of whether this is the last playtest, I’m excited to see you out there in the jungles of Vietnam again. You can expect me hiding in the bushes in ambush, so make sure to check every rustle; it might be the last thing you hear.
