Reading Time: 4 minutes

We recently covered the weapons of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii, and now it’s time to cover their abilities. We covered their abilities with a short overview, but it’s about time we went into a bit more detail. So, that’s exactly what I’ll be doing, and I’ll talk about the Blitzes alongside the combat abilities of the Skitarii.

The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii have quite the arsenal packed into their package upon arrival, which is a welcome sight. Some of their abilities may seem familiar to some, while others may surprise you in how they work. I won’t keep you in suspense any further, so let’s see what the Skitarii have for us.

The weapons of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii have had their time in the limelight, so it’s their ability’s turn to be the star. And don’t think that these abilities won’t put up a good show; they’re quite good at what they do. So, let’s start this little breakdown with the combat abilities of the Skitarii.

The Combat Abilities Of The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii

The combat abilities of the Skitarii operate very differently compared to those of their peers in the Imperium. Instead of a cooldown, Skitarii warriors have a regenerative charge system that fills up over time or through certain actions. This system changes up how you play Darktide quite a bit, especially with how you build your character.

By default, your Skitarii warrior has three charges, with you only needing one charge to activate your combat ability. You generate 2% of your charge each second, with kills generating an additional 2% and 4% for elite and specialist kills. And once you generate at least one charge, you can activate one of the Skitarii’s powerful combat abilities.

The combat abilities of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii are as follows:

  • The Voltaic Expander Ability:
    • Your base ability
    • Using one charge unleashes an electrical discharge around you to electrocute enemies in a 6m radius for two seconds, which stuns and damages them.
    • Using two charges extends this range to 9m
    • Using three charges extends this range to 12m
  • The Voltaic Emitter Ability:
    • An improved version of your base ability
    • Using one charge unleashes an electrical discharge around you to electrocute enemies in a 12m radius for two seconds, which stuns and damages them.
    • Using two or more charges causes ranged enemies within 30m to have weapon malfunctions for 12 seconds.
    • Using three or more charges buffs your attacks to electrocute enemies on hit for two seconds.
  • The Chordclaw Strike Ability:
    • Use one charge to perform a heavy melee attack using a Chordclaw.
    • The Chordclaw will grant a guaranteed critical strike and has 50% more rending.
  • The Advanced Combat Doctrines Ability:
    • Spend 25% of your charge to swap to your secondary weapon, which will lock onto enemies close to your reticle.
    • You will need at least one charge to activate this ability.
    • This combat ability also grants -90% Spread and -60% Recoil for its duration.
    • You drain 10% of your charge per second and an additional 1% per shot, but it won’t drain while reloading.
    • Automatically gets disabled when swapping off your secondary weapon, when you run out of charge, or if you reactivate this ability.

The Blitzes Of The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii

Moving along with the abilities of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii, we have their Blitzes. You’ll be using these much more often than their combat abilities, most of the time, because I know some people out there build their characters otherwise. And just because you’ll use them more often doesn’t mean that they’re weaker than your combat abilities.

      • Empowering your Servo-Skull has a 16-second cooldown.

    • The explosion applies the electrocution status effect to enemies within 5m
    • Has three charges

Is That All For The Abilities Of The Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii?

That is indeed all of the combat abilities and Blitzes of the Warhammer 40K Darktide Skitarii. And despite most of them following the standard rule of three for combat abilities and Blitzes, except for the floating skull, they’re still refreshing. Especially because of the unique Servo-Skull Blitz ability, though I can’t escape it since everyone’s playing Skitarii.

Regardless of the number of flying skulls there suddenly are in my missions, the Skitarii are a welcome sight. And I hope this explanation will help you in your journey in serving the Omnissiah even further. Now get off the terminal you’re reading this on and get down there, the wicked never rest, so neither should you!
