Season 29 is here, and it brings the Apex Legends Overclocked features into the fray of the arena. Season 29 of Apex Legends released on May 5, 2026, and it brings some interesting new features for the contestants of the Apex games. And once you take a look at these features, you may change up some of your strategies when entering the arena.
Not only does the new season introduce a host of changes and additions, but it also adds the new Apex Legends Overclocked features. These features not only add depth to the game but also broaden the ways to play. So, let’s take a look at these new features and how you can use them to your advantage in the arena.
The Apex Legends Overclocked Features And Their Uses

The Apex Legends Overclocked features aren’t new to the market of games, but they’re still a nice inclusion to the game. The features we’ll talk about momentarily are the new Deathbox Respawn mechanic, Chain Healing mechanic, and the new rework to Vantage’s Ultimate. Let’s begin with the new respawn mechanic for the Deathboxes.
The Deathbox Respawn Mechanic
We all know that respawning via the beacon leaves the respawned teammate in a vulnerable position, as they have no gear. However, thanks to the new Deathbox respawn mechanic, you’ll be able to get back in the fight with all of your gear in hand. Unfortunately, your teammate will be just as vulnerable respawning you via the Deathbox as the beacon.
When using the Deathbox respawn, your teammate will have to stay still for seven seconds while activating the mechanic. When finished, you’ll respawn with all of the gear still present in your Deathbox, so thank your lucky stars if you respawn with everything. However, each additional death increases the time before your teammates can revive you.
To prevent this troubling situation for your teammates, don’t die.
The Chain Healing Mechanic
Players are constantly improving their frame-perfect heals, but this one Apex Legends Overclocked feature can do it for you. With Chain Healing, you can queue your next healing item, and it will automatically use it when the first animation completes. This mechanic now allows you to heal continuously without having to mash the same button.
This system has three options for you to select in your gameplay settings. The options and what they do are as follows:
- Off: Disables the feature entirely.
- Single: While healing, allows the queuing of another healing item. You must queue each additional heal manually by pressing the heal button again or selecting a new item from the healing wheel.
- Auto: Functions the same as Single, apart from one difference. Auto will continuously queue that same healing item, without any further input, until the effective health pool is full, or you run out of that healing item.
The Vantage Ultimate Changes
While this doesn’t exactly qualify as an Apex Legends Overclocked feature, it is a significant enough change to count. This change comes in the form of a slight rework of her Ultimate, Sniper’s Mark, which adds a low-magnification canted sight to her rifle. However, the canted sight isn’t all that’s new with her ultimate; the changes are as follows:
- Vantage’s rifle now comes with a canted sight, which is a 2x optic mounted on the side of the rifle.
- While canted, the rechamber time is now 1.1 seconds from 1.2 seconds.
- While canted, ADS time is now 0.4 seconds from 0.5 seconds.
- Bullet scaling becomes drastically reduced while using the new sight.
- With the new sight, the standard sight has received some buffs.
- Reduced ADS time of the standard sight from 0.6 seconds to 0.5 seconds.
- The handling of her rifle has improved for both standard and canted sights.
- Reduced holster and lower time from 0.5 seconds to 0.4 seconds.
- Reduced deploy and raise time from 1.5 seconds to 1.3 seconds.
- The magnification for the standard scope has increased from 3x to 4x.
Is That All For The Apex Legends Overclocked Features?
The list of Apex Legends Overclocked features is quite small, so that is indeed all we have in that regard. However, with the release of the new season, we know what the upgrades for Axle are. The upgrades for Axle in Apex Legends are as follows:
- Level Two:
- Super Slider: Gain a second Tactical charge.
- Automata: Gain a second Ultimate charge.
- Level Three:
- Jump Gate: Upgrades the Nitro Gate to give a double-jump.
- Similar to how the Triple Jump upgrade for Octane works, this upgrades the Nitro Gate itself.
- Players can use up to one double-jump while the Nitro Gate effect is active.
- Sliding Shooter: Bullets shot while sliding come straight from the inventory instead of the magazine.
- Functionally, this allows for longer continuous firing while sliding before having to reload.
- Bullets shot straight from inventory are capped at half the max magazine size of your current weapon (i.e., if a purple mag capacity is 30 bullets, 15 bullets will get pulled from inventory before instantly transitioning to the active magazine).
- Jump Gate: Upgrades the Nitro Gate to give a double-jump.
As far as I know, this is all we have for the new Apex Legends Overclocked features, but it isn’t the end. Season 29 of Apex Legends, named Overclocked, features a plethora of balancing changes and various other fixes. But, if you don’t want to read all of that, then the additions listed here are all you need to know before hopping into a match.
So get in that dropship, you’ve got a title to win!
