A new season is here, a new legend is joining the roster, and it’s none other than Axle in Apex Legends. The new season of Apex Legends, Overclocked, brings in several game-changing features for our beloved legends. However, that’s not the main feature; the main feature is the speedy skirmisher from Salvo herself, Axle.
Axle in Apex Legends is the 28th legend to join the game, with Sparrow being the last legend to join before her. In fact, since the last legend to join was Sparrow, this means that it will be a year since a new legend joined when Axle releases. But let’s not dabble in the wrong details; let’s take a look at Axle’s abilities and how you can use them.
The Abilities Of Axle In Apex Legends

Axle in Apex Legends features the standard loadout of any legend in the roster, her template at least. She features a legend class, a passive ability, a tactical ability, and an ultimate ability. As usual, she gets more interesting when we dive into the details of her kit, and she has a rather speedy one, one that could compete with Octane.
The Class Of Axle In Apex Legends
Axle enters the arena as a Skirmisher, a class of legend that specializes in mobility, evasion, and outmaneuvering opponents. With the Skirmisher class, she gains the Skirmisher perk, which allows her to take a peek into incoming care packages and share the info with her team. She shares this class with Alter, Ash, Horizon, Octane, Pathfinder, and Wraith.
The Abilities of Axle In Apex Legends
Let’s start with her passive, Drift, which allows her to have increased control over her movements while sliding on any surface. You can live out your Initial D or The Fast and the Furious dreams by drifting around corners with your slide. However, make sure there isn’t a nasty surprise waiting around the corner.
Up next is her tactical ability, Nitro Gate, which deploys a speed gate that propels users into a boosted slide. Think of the Nitro Gates as boost panels from Mario Kart; you gain a boost when moving over them. Let’s hope you don’t take Apex Legends as seriously as family Mario Kart night, because some family bonds have exploded because of it.
Lastly, her ultimate ability, Kickstart, sends out a drone that seeks any player in sight and flies to them before exploding. This explosion not only does damage, but it also knocks players around like Nomad’s Airjab from Rainbow Six Siege. So, if you’ve got a pesky Gibraltar hiding inside his dome shield, send in your little scarab to knock him right out.
Is That All For Axle In Apex Legends?
For now, that’s all the information that’s available for Axle in Apex Legends, but that will change on May 5, 2026. The reason that will change is that it coincides with the release of Season 29 of Apex Legends, which will also coincide with the release of Axle. And once she releases, we’ll get a better look at her upgrades.
But until then, you’d better sharpen your skills in the arena, because fresh meat is about to arrive. And you wouldn’t want a newbie in the ring to humiliate you now, would you?
