The Tarkov 1.0 release on November 15, 2025, has become a monumental moment in gaming history. After 13 years of development and eight years in Beta, Battlestate Games has finally released its beloved game to the public. This grand release now splits the history of Tarkov into the before and after.

But before we even think about the future of Tarkov, we must understand the present first, before all else. The Tarkov 1.0 release of the present surprised many of its fans with new features, as fans test features in the beta first. But you’ve come to the right place, as we’ll delve into the features of the Tarkov 1.0 release so you can start raiding ASAP.

The Tarkov 1.0 release happened mere days ago, and even longtime fans are confused about the new additions. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place, as that’s what we’re talking about here. And the first on this list from the Tarkov 1.0 release is the completely new and improved introduction.

The New Introduction

Many fans are familiar with creating their character and gunning for the beginning quests from their beloved traders. But the Tarkov 1.0 release changes that familiar formula into something completely different, and maybe for the better. A tutorial loads upon completing the character customization, and it sees your character waking up right after the EMP.

The tutorial expects you to understand the basics of FPS games, so it’ll only teach you the basics of Tarkov. These basics include looting, basic keybinds, what to look out for, how to survive, and more. Other than those basics, the rest is up to you to learn once you enter the merciless world of Tarkov.

The New World Of Tarkov

Not only has the introduction changed, but the world of Tarkov itself has also received several adjustments. The starting quests have changed, and so have the maps that we’ve grown familiar with. Players now follow a quest line from the very start, think of it as a story campaign, instead of what we knew in the beta.

Not only that, maps have received adjustments, though it doesn’t mean that they have changed themselves. Every map will remain locked except for Ground Zero, Streets of Tarkov, and Interchange. Maps will unlock as you progress through the story or if your PMC has transitioned to a locked map.

The New Mechanics Of Tarkov 1.0

When grabbing your first quests, you might notice something new with the traders, something we’ve only seen with one trader. You can now speak to the traders face-to-face in full 3D, and it’s not just with Lightkeeper now. Therefore, opening up a whole host of new ways for you to engage with the world of Tarkov.

Due to the new story campaign, the quest timeline you once knew is now completely different. Instead of starting with quests in Ground Zero, you begin with a quest from Ragman to go to Interchange. However, this is still the same game; it’s a hardcore survival shooter, so the order of quests doesn’t really matter.

Is That All For The Tarkov 1.0 Release?

The Tarkov 1.0 release happened just days ago, so information on the game is still quite limited. The information we do have is still critical to understand with the 1.0 release, as they are the main changes made to the game. As more information is made available, you’ll know where to look, so gear up and find a way to escape from Tarkov before it’s too late.
