The Warhammer 40K Darktide Hive Scum is arriving in Darktide on December 2, 2025, with brand new gameplay. Fatshark promises that the Hive Scum will differentiate itself from the previous classes with its kit, and it seems promising. This wild new character will surely set itself apart from the established cast, but what’s so different about it?

The 40K Darktide Hive Scum promises a fast-paced playstyle with all sorts of chaotic hijinks, even more than usual. The Hive Scum is built for run-and-gun tactics, along with swift slash attacks before scramming. But that’s just a taste, so let’s delve into the 40K Darktide Hive Scum before you purchase them.

The 40K Darktide Hive Scum will release on December 2, 2025, for everyone to purchase and play. The Hive Scum will cost $11.99 for the standard version and $18.99 for the deluxe version. The deluxe edition includes exclusive cosmetics and the character, while the standard only provides the character.

Once players acquire the new 40K Darktide Hive Scum, they’ll be in for a world of surprise. The Hive Scum is the first class in Darktide to have the ability to duel-wield their weapons. The Hive Scum can duel-wield shivs, autopistols, and stub pistols, but they can also use standard weapons like the others.

The Hive Scum can use an assortment of other makeshift weapons, consisting of crowbars and bone saws. The Hive Scum also drenches these horrifying weapons in concoctions of dubious origin for extra status effects. Players can further customize their playstyle with the three different Hive Scum skill tree paths.

The three Hive Scum Arcetypes are the Gunslinger, the Ruffian, and the Chemist. The Gunslinger is self-explanatory, but the Ruffian and Chemist are a bit confusing at first, but worry not. The Ruffian specializes in close melee combat, and the Chemist specializes in the dubious concoctions mentioned before.

The 40K Dartktide Hive Scum will also start with blind grenades, also known as a flashbang to some. The Gunslinger also gets these grenades, but the Ruffian and Chemist get their own special Blitz abilities. The Ruffian receives a missile launcher, while the Chemist has a chemical grenade that spreads its toxic contents in an area.

Is That All For The Warhammer 40K Darktide Hive Scum?

The 40K Darktide Hive Scum will also come with a plethora of customization options, including a never-before-seen option. The Hive Scum will have new face paints and makeup available to them, a new customization option. It’s unclear if it’s exclusive to just the Hive Scum, but we’ll have to wait and see.

So until the Hive Scum arrives to save their home from the forces of chaos, continue to fight on, varlets. You wouldn’t want to disappoint the Emperor, would you?
