After months of waiting with our ears to the ground, the Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond finally has a release date. And not only do we know its release date, but we also got to take a look at its contents, including its armor, weapons, and more. But is this enough to justify the wait and the price?
The Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond took two months from its teaser to finally have its release date, August 12, 2026. And with the release date out in the open, it’s clear we’ll have to wait nearly two more weeks before we get it. So let’s take a look to see if this Warbond’s worth the wait, or if Arrowhead needs to adjust it before release.
The Contents Of The Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond

As mentioned, not only do we know the release date of the Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond, but we also know its contents. While the format of its contents is a bog-standard affair, the individual contents themselves stand out from their comrades. But it isn’t hard to do that, since their designs come straight from the grim dark of W40K.
But let’s not be too harsh; we haven’t even taken a look at the contents of the upcoming Legendary Warbond. Once we take a look at its contents, then we can form our own opinions, but for now, let’s hold our tongues and open our ears, or eyes, for this matter. With that said, let’s begin our look at the upcoming collaboration.
The contents of the Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond are as follows:
- The R/40-K Hot-Shot Marksman Rifle: A laser primary weapon that’s supposedly deadly up close and even deadlier at range. Given the description, this weapon is theorized to have increased damage at range or increased armor penetration at range.
- The P/40-K Bolt Pistol: A sidearm chambered with a comically large caliber meant for comically large targets. In the reveal trailer for the Warbond, it’s shown that this weapon can one-shot Terminid Warriors to the head.
- The G/40-K Meltamine: A throwable proximity-activated burst mine that triggers a reaction that can rival the sun. The trailer shows an initial explosion that takes out an Automaton Hulk, and a second explosion that takes out its entourage. The first explosion seems to have a smaller radius, but higher damage and armor penetration, while the second explosion is wider and meant for chaff enemies.
- The TG-8 Sharpshooter Medium Armor: A medium armor set with the new True Grit armor passive.
- The TG-122 Demo-Trooper Heavy Armor: A heavy armor set with the new True Grit armor passive.
- The True Grit Armor Passive: Armors with this passive gain 20 ergonomics for weapons and 30% faster reload speeds for support weapons.
- The 40-K Meltagun: A support weapon that fires a short-ranged, superheated beam of pure thermal energy capable of melting steel. The trailer shows that it can penetrate the rear of an Automaton tank, which has heavy armor.
Of course, the Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond also features the same cosmetics that other Warbonds have. The upcoming legendary Warbond features capes, player banners, a player title, and vehicle camos. But I didn’t mention these in detail, as they don’t provide nearly as much content compared to the new armor and weapons.
Is The Wait Worth It For The Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond?

With the reveal of the contents and release date of the Helldivers 2 Warhammer 40K Legendary Warbond, the player base seems split. Some players have had minor gripes with the reveal, such as the Warbond not including their favorite faction or weapon. But many have commented on the underwhelming armor design and the lackluster number of items.
In my opinion, this Legendary Warbond looks great, but I do agree that the armor does need a bit of a touch-up in terms of looks. However, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m biased; I love Helldivers 2 and Warhammer 40K, but I do understand why many have their grievances. Given the recent lack of satisfying content, the price of the Warbond, and so much more.
But if Arrowhead’s promises for more content do come this year, as promised in the progression transmission, that may change. However, players are getting impatient, and many have lost faith, so Arrowhead better get moving. But that’s for the game in general and not the Warbond in particular.
We’ll have to wait for the Warbond to come out and try it ourselves, or have someone else try it and tell us, before we can decide its quality. Until then, you’d better dust off your farming tools, because it’s that time of year again to grind for some Super Credits. Now rev up those engines and calibrate your Warp Packs; it’s time to grind!
