Hutlihut has released the Void Crew Striker update for Void Crew, and Ectypes on all platforms can enjoy it right now. The Void Crew Striker update docked on September 25, 2025, after a delay, to deliver new content for Void Crew. These include a new ship type, called the Striker, along with several other new additions that we’ll delve into today.

For those who don’t know what Void Crew is, Void Crew is a chaotic, co-op roguelike, space adventure game. These adventures see you and up to five other players crewing a spaceship to defend humanity against hostile aliens. As the genre suggests, you and your crew will die a lot, whether at the hands of aliens or your crew.

What The Void Crew Striker Update Brings For Players

The Void Crew Striker update was born from the idea that the developers have been pondering for quite a while. They wanted a new ship for players to use, and they couldn’t figure out how to make it unique. With the new six-player limit, the developers wondered if they should make a bigger ship, one with multiple stories.

But they realized there wasn’t anything to bridge the gap between the agile Frigate and the powerful Destroyer. And after some prototyping and a few missed lunches, Hutlihut came up with the Striker, a suspiciously croissant-shaped spacecraft. Although its design came from a hunger-fueled haze, the Striker’s effectiveness is nothing to scoff at.

The highlight of the Void Crew Striker update is the Striker itself, a mobile but powerful new ship class. The Striker mixes the mobility of the Frigate and the destructive capabilities of the Destroyer into one package. However, this doesn’t mean that it surpasses either of these ships in their respective abilities in any way.

The Striker features a unique open interior design, allowing Ectypes to traverse the inside with ease. That does mean that Ectypes without magnetic boots won’t have rails to save them from going splat against the walls. Another unique aspect of the Striker also includes the external walkways that allow Ectypes to make on-the-go repairs.

The Striker features eight front-facing module slots, four on each side, and two rear slots on each side. These front-facing modules can offer superior firepower with the correct setup, but that’s up to you to make happen. The Striker also includes three circuit breakers and three relic slots, similar to the Frigate’s setup.

The Void Crew Striker update also features new ship loadouts, and that’s exactly what we’ll talk about in the next section.

The New Ship Loadouts

The Void Crew Striker update introduces new ship loadouts for all three ships in Void Crew. The new ship loadouts include:

  • The Scout Loadout: The Scout loadout provides a blessed homunculus that increases the range and speed of scans by 50% and 100%. In addition to the scanning range, this blessed homunculus also increases the fire rate and range of weapons by 25% and 15%.
  • The Heavy Loadout: The Blessed homunculus of the Heavy loadout grants improved accuracy, damage, and fire rate for Orison weapons. These improvements are 75% more accuracy and damage, 50% more fire rate, and 200% more ammo efficiency.
  • The Scorpion Loadout: The Scorpion loadout’s blessed homunculus grants weapons placed in the aft/rear of the ship buffs. These buffs include two less power consumption and 75% more ammo efficiency.

And to assist in these new ship loadouts, the Void Crew Striker update also features new weapon mods.

The New Weapon Mods

The Void Crew Striker Update brings along some new weapon modes for your weapon stations. These include:

  • The Power Overwhelming Mod: This mod buffs damage and fire rate by 50% at the cost of five more power consumption.
  • The Power Underwhelming Mod: This mod significantly decreases power consumption by five in exchange for 5% less damage, fire rate, range, and accuracy.
  • The Howitzer Protocol Mod: This weapon mod multiplies weapon damage by two in exchange for 25% less accuracy and two more power consumption.

Ectypes can use these mods on all weapons, so try these new mods out and maybe you’ll find a new favorite. On top of this, the Void Crew Striker update added a couple of new modules too, one of which can use these new mods.

The New Ship Modules

The Void Crew Striker update also added two new modules on top of the other additions. Or rather, it’s one new module and a new upgrade tier for a weapon, but new content is still new content. The Void Crew Striker update introduces the new Forcefield Airlock and Orison Mk III Heavy Autocannon.

The Force Field Airlock allows Ectypes to seamlessly transition from the inside to the outside of the ship. This new module seals the vessel with a simple force field that Ectypes can pass through with ease. Just remember to put on the EVA suit beside the force field before you step out into the vacuum of space.

The Orison Mk III Heavy Autocannon is the final tier of its kind, featuring four triple-barreled Gatling-style autocannons. Like other tier three weapons, the MKIII Heavy Autocannon features three weapon mod slots and four ammo box slots. Now find the Orison Mk III Heavy Autocannon and revel in its armor-breaking superiority.

The ships aren’t the only ones getting new toys to play with; the crew members also received some new additions.

The New Perks And Mutators

The Void Crew Striker update presents new perks for the Gunner, Pilot, Engineer, and Scavenger. It also introduces a new mission mutator to spice up your session in exchange for more exp. These perks and new mutator are as follows:

  • The New Engineer Perks: The Engineer gains two new perks to choose that benefit the entire team. One of these perks buffs all weapon damage, and the other increases the power generated by one. Both perks activate when the Engineer is seated within the ship, whether that be the seats next to the map or in a weapon station.
  • The New Gunner Perk: The new Gunner perk helps reduce the heat buildup from their weapon stations. Gunners can now enjoy firing away for much longer with weapons that generate heat. This perk works when the Gunner is seated in a weapon station.
  • The New Pilot Perk: Pilots can now impact their Gunners with their brand-new perk. This new perk increases the accuracy of all weapons when the Pilot is seated. And since the Pilot is almost always seated, this perk can free up some weapon mod slots for the crew to choose something different.
  • The New Scavenger Perk: The new Scavenger perk allows them to craft the new Force Field Airlock. This perk is similar to the Gunner’s Flux Harmonizer perk.
  • The New “Hold Still” Mission Mutator: This new mutator decreases the accuracy of all weapons depending on how fast the ship is traveling. So slow down when you’re lining up those critical shots, or you can also brute force it with accuracy by volume.

What Else Is In The Void Crew Striker Update?

The Void Crew Striker update features a whole plethora of other minor changes, too many to discuss in any reasonable time. But the summary of these minor changes boils down to improved user experience and various bug fixes for the game. If these changes have done their job, then you shouldn’t notice anything different, or better yet, you’ll catch a positive change.

Now gather your crew and pick your roles; it’s time to set out on your holy pilgrimage and protect humanity.
