The Famous Helldivers 2 Eagle Stratagems

In the long list of stratagems, the Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems are among the Helldivers’ favorites, and for good reason. The Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems are a set of stratagems that have a unique property of being incredibly swift. The Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems can deliver incredible firepower in mere seconds, and that isn’t all.

Thanks to their multiple hardpoints, the Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems can deliver multiple of these payloads before having to rearm. Thus, allowing the Helldivers to strike the enemies several times, causing maximum destruction. But what do each Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems do, and what are their purposes?

The Helldivers 2 Eagle Stratagems And Their Uses

As of the September 16, 2025, patch, there are seven Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems, all with varying uses. The uses in question range from clearing large crowds of enemies to the rapid deconstruction of heavily armored targets. The Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems and their various use cases are as follows:

The Eagle Strafing Run

One of the first available Eagle stratagems, unlockable at level one, is the Eagle Strafing Run. The stratagem calls for an Eagle to strafe a target with its 23mm autocannon, loaded with armor-piercing high-explosive rounds. These rounds are perfect for groups of enemies and even armored targets, but it may take multiple strafes.

The Eagle Strafing Run starts from the stratagem beacon and goes away from the direction you were facing when thrown. The Eagle Strafing Run starts with four uses and increases to five with upgrades, tying for the most uses with another Eagle stratagem. The Eagle Strafing Run is also the quickest to arrive out of the six other Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems.

The Eagle Airstrike

Like the Eagle Strafing Run, the Eagle Airstrike is purchasable from the very beginning at level one. The Eagle Airstrike sees the Eagle dropping a payload of 100 kg bombs perpendicular to the direction you were facing when thrown. These bombs can destroy the spawners of both Terminids and Automatons.

These 100 kg bombs are excellent for dispatching groups of targets, including heavily armored targets, like the Bile Titan. But this may take multiple airstrikes to take down a single heavily armored target. Fortunately, the Eagle Airstrike has two uses and three with upgrades, so it’s possible to take down those heavily armored targets.

The Eagle Cluster Bomb

Unlockable at level three, the Eagle Cluster Bomb saturates a large area with explosive cluster munitions. Though useless at demolishing structures, the cluster munitions are second to none at clearing out hordes of enemies. So if you need an area cleared of undemocratic dissidents, just use the Eagle Cluster Bomb.

The Eagle Cluster Bomb has four uses and five with upgrades, tying with the Eagle Strafing Run for the most uses. Just like the Eagle Airstrike, the Eagle Cluster Bomb drops perpendicular to the direction you were facing when thrown. Though with its massive area of effect, how the Eagle Cluster Bomb lands doesn’t matter much.

The Eagle Napalm Airstrike

Instead of high-explosive bombs, the Eagle Napalm Airstrike uses incredibly hot napalm instead. This napalm burns at over 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit (2,760 degrees Celsius), scorching any target caught in the initial explosion and leftover fire. The Eagle Napalm Airstrike arrives the same way as the standard airstrike.

The Eagle Napalm Airstrike has two uses and three with upgrades.

The Eagle Smoke Strike

Like the Eagle Napalm Airstrike, this eagle stratagem replaces the lethal 100 kg bombs with non-lethal smoke canisters. These smoke canisters explode into a wall of smoke to conceal the Helldivers, allowing them to reposition with relative safety. The smoke blocks the sight of enemies, making them miss their shots or lose track of Helldivers.

The Eagle Smoke Strike comes with two uses and three with upgrades.

The Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods

The Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods completely remove bombloads and use anti-tank rocket pods instead. The Eagle 110mm Rocket Pods target the most dangerous target from the stratagem ball and unleash a hail of anti-tank rockets. These 110mm rockets can destroy smaller armored targets, but bigger targets will only have their armor stripped or just heavily damaged.

Fortunately, with its three uses, four when upgraded, you can take down these larger targets with ease.

The Eagle 500 kg Bomb

The famous Eagle 500 kg bomb combines its 100 kg bombs into one giant bomb for maximum destruction. The massive 500 kg bomb can destroy almost everything, like the Bile Titan and the fearsome Factory Strider, with just one bomb. Due to its power, the Eagle 500 kg bomb is extremely limited in its uses, the lowest of the Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems.

The Eagle 500 kg bomb has one use, and gains just one more use with upgrades.

Which Helldivers 2 Eagle Stratagems Should You Use?

Although taking the biggest option out of the Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems may seem like a good idea, you might have to think twice. Each of the Helldivers 2 Eagle stratagems specializes in different things, so choosing the right one is critical. However, selecting the right one could also mean choosing the one that you enjoy the most.
