The 45th hero, known as Vendetta, in Overwatch 2, is ready to join the fight with the release of season 20. Season 20 of Overwatch 2 arrives on December 9, 2025, but fans won’t have to wait that long to try out Vendetta. Vendetta in Overwatch 2 will enter the Hero Trial from November 26, 2025, to December 1, 2025.
With the Hero Trial, fans of the game can try out Vendetta in Overwatch 2 before her official arrival. These trials will allow players to experience the first melee DPS hero in Overwatch 2 in all her glory. But what is the kit of Vendetta in Overwatch 2, and how do you use it to the fullest to lead your team to victory?
The Kit Of Vendetta In Overwatch 2

Vendetta in Overwatch 2 is the first melee DPS hero, at least in Overwatch 2 terms, sorry Doomfist. Her primary weapon, her hardlight sword, deals damage with a three-hit combo that ends with a destructive overhead slash. She swings her blade from side to side before ending it with the final strike.
Her massive blade can also block projectiles and melee attacks, but that ability is limited. Vendetta in Overwatch 2 can block projectiles, which reduces damage taken, and completely deflects melee attacks. Unfortunately, blocking requires energy, and when that runs out, her blade can’t block again until it recharges.
While in her blocking stance, Vendetta can use her energy to hurl a wide projectile at her enemies. This ability is similar to Reinhardt’s Fire Strike ability, but instead of charges, it uses her blocking energy. This ability isn’t your only range option with Vendetta in Overwatch 2, either; she’s got a few more tricks up her sleeve.
Vendetta can also throw her sword, which can damage enemies, before streaking towards it to retrieve it. If you use this ability to gain altitude, Vendetta can crash back to the ground with a powerful overhead strike. This ability can also save you from getting ledged, while also giving you a chance at vengeance.
However, if you need a CC option, then she can dash forward before performing a circular slash around her. If you combo this ability with the previous one, then you’ve got a dive combo with some CC. And these abilities are made even better with the inclusion of Vendetta’s passive ability.
Vendetta’s passive ability grants her increased attack and movement speed with every landed strike. Thus allowing her to keep up with her targets, but she isn’t unescapable, so use those movement abilities to skedaddle. Vendetta in Overwatch 2 also has a few perks she can select, just like the rest of her team.
Vendetta’s minor perks consist of Siphoning Strike and Relentless, both of which unlock at level two. Siphoning Strike gives her overhead strikes 30% lifesteal, and Relentless allows her passive stack up to three times. Thus, increasing her attack speed by 5% and movement speed by 4% per stack.
Her two major perks are Swift Vengeance and Raging Storm, both powerful perks that no one should mess with. Swift Vengeance marks the player who landed the killing blow on you, which allows you to gain 125 overhealth when eliminating them. Raging Storm makes your spinning attack hit three more times, dealing 40 damage in a wide area.
How Do You Play Vendetta In Overwatch 2?

Vendetta in Overwatch 2 shares some similarities with other dive DPS heroes, so she could perform those duties. She’s also like Reinhardt with her close-range domination, so keep your friendlies close and your enemies closer. But her true utility won’t be seen until players try her out, so mark your calendars for the arrival of Vendetta in Overwatch 2!
