The Peak Roots update arrives on Steam with a list of new additions, including a new biome. This update appeared on Steam on November 6, 2025, less than a week after its launch announcement on October 30, 2025. And the fans who have waited with shaking excitement since its announcement can finally play the Peak Roots update.

This latest update introduces a new biome with its own creepy crawly threats, along with other dangers. It also brings new items for players to use, along with many other new mechanics. So before you dive into the update, here’s what you and your friends need to know about the Peak Roots update.

What The Peak Roots Update Has To Offer

The first addition of the Peak Roots update is the new biome called Roots, which has a chance to replace the Tropics. The Roots biome presents new challenges for the scouts of Peak that may drive any arachnophobe mad. The Roots biome features new spider enemies and fungus-infested areas, and scouts, make sure not to get bitten by them.

Thankfully, you won’t have to worry about missing out on Roots as it’ll be in every run until November 17, 2025. So you’ll get to experience the strong winds and dangerous undergrowth of the redwood forest before it goes into rotation. And remember, if you aren’t a fan of creepy crawlies, you can toggle the arachnophobia mode in the menu.

Luckily, there is one thing that you won’t have to worry about missing out on, and that’s the new items. The Peak Roots update brought along new items for the scouts to use, even a new mystical item. For example, one of the new items renders you completely invulnerable for a few moments, and another allows you to respawn.

The Peak Roots update also overhauled the cooking system; gone are the days of roasting anything and everything. Non-food items now react differently to getting cooked, so cook them at your own risk. Various cooked poisonous foods are now safe to eat, except for mushrooms, which haven’t changed.

And that’s not all, this is just a glimpse of the Peak Roots update and its bountiful contents. If you want to find out with your friends or by yourself, then go ahead, the update has already arrived in its full glory. But be careful of what hangs above in the trees, and what creeps below in the undergrowth.

The Peak Roots update is the second major update for Peak, and it certainly doesn’t seem like the last. So go and enjoy the Peak Roots update while the team behind Peak cooks up a brand new update for us all. And remember, never ever leave your fellow scouts behind, and if you do, you’ll pay dearly for your misdeeds.
