She’s here to complete the ritual for the betterment of her found family, but can a circus girl really survive in these streets? Let’s see for ourselves and discuss what the new attraction has in store for us.
The Abilities Of Celeste In Deadlock
Celeste in Deadlock arrives at the Cursed Apple as a sort of mage, full of magical abilities to dazzle her enemies. And when she’s in trouble, these abilities can just as easily get her out of them as they get her into them. But let’s start simple with what she’ll be using to do most of her damage, her primary weapon, Carny Life.
Carny Life
The primary weapon of Celeste in Deadlock, Carny Life, is a medium-range projectile weapon. It fires eight bouncy projectiles at 1.67 bullets per second, with each projectile dealing 25 damage. After calculating its fire rate and damage per projectile, the DPS of Celeste in Deadlock comes out to 41 DPS.
Light Eater
Celeste’s first ability sees her throw a flare of light out in a cone to damage enemies with 50 damage. Enemies hit by Light Eater gain the Blasted status effect for 12 seconds, allowing Celeste in Deadlock to throw in some extra damage. Celeste damages blasted enemies with 25 spirit damage when attacking them and also steals 20% of their life.
The upgrades of Light Eater are as follows:
- The first upgrade for Light Eater reduces its cooldown by 10 seconds, resulting in a 10-second cooldown.
- The second upgrade for Light Eater increases its cast range and spirit life steal by 3m and 15%, respectively. This enhancement results in a 13m cast range and 35% life steal.
- The third upgrade for Light Eater increases the damage Celeste does to Blasted enemies by 25, increasing it to 50. The damage Blasted enemies receive also receives a spirit scaling increase of 0.20, bringing it up to 0.43.
Dazzling Trick

Celeste’s second ability surrounds her in a protective prism that grants her 120 barrier and 1m of bonus movement speed. If the barrier breaks, surrounding enemies are silenced and deals 50% of the barrier’s health in damage. The barrier only lasts for four seconds, and the Silence debuff lasts for 1.75 seconds.
The upgrades and their effects for Dazzling Trick are as follows:
- The first upgrade increases the bonus movement speed Celeste receives by 2.5m. Thus, increasing her movement speed while the barrier is up to 3.5m.
- The next upgrade grants her barrier with an additional 100 more health and 0.7 more spirit scaling. These enhancements render the barrier with 220 health and 1.8 spirit scaling.
- The final upgrade for Dazzling Trick increases the Silence duration by two seconds and decreases its cooldown by 18 seconds. After the final upgrade, Dazzling Trick has 3.75 seconds of Silence and a 17-second cooldown. The final upgrade also allows Celeste’s ultimate, Shining Wonder, to bounce off the barrier.
Radiant Daggers
This ability allows Celeste to summon daggers from the stars where she aims into an 8m circle. After a short duration, the circle will fully form, which causes an explosion dealing 60 spirit damage to anyone in the area. Each hero affected by Radiant Daggers grants Celeste in Deadlock an 8% spirit damage buff, which stacks six times and lasts for 25 seconds.
The upgrades for Radiant Daggers and their effects are as follows:
- The first of these upgrades gives Radiant Daggers two more charges, allowing Celeste to use it three times in sequence.
- The second upgrade decreases Radiant Daggers’ cooldown by 12 seconds and increases its damage by 60. This upgrade results in an 18-second cooldown and 120 damage when the daggers fully form.
- The third and final upgrade adds 3% to its spirit damage buff and sweetens the deal with a 6% increase to fire rate. After some calculations, Radiant Daggers gets left with an 11% spirit damage buff per stack.
Shining Wonder
Shining Wonder is the ultimate ability of Celeste in Deadlock, and it sees her throwing out an orb that damages and debuffs enemies. The orb deals 105 spirit damage and slows enemies by 40%; it also decreases their dash distance by 25%. The orb bounces between enemies and prioritizes heroes for a total of eight bounces.

- The third and final upgrade adds 10 bounces and decreases its cooldown by 35 seconds. The third upgrade leaves Shining Wonder with 18 bounces and a 105-second cooldown.
How Should I Play Celeste In Deadlock?

Celeste in Deadlock prioritizes her abilities and spirit damage when it comes to dealing her damage. So, you should focus on getting her spirit power up before anything else, as this will accelerate you to the very top of the leaderboard faster. But becoming more powerful is just half of the game; you must know how to play her first.
Celeste’s kit works well in team fights and 1v1 encounters, with her abilities serving their own purposes in them. During a team fight, her Radiant Daggers can slow down enemies for her team to have an easier time attacking them. And when she needs to fight a hunting Drifter, that same ability can slash his mobility in half, essentially “trapping” him.
Her Dazzling Trick acts as a protective barrier, but once fully upgraded, it can boost the effectiveness of her ultimate. Speaking of her ultimate, it’s perfect in a team fight, as it bounces between enemies to damage and debuff them even further. When alone, she can activate it with Dazzling Trick to bounce her ultimate back and forth from herself to the enemy.
Now that you have an idea of how to play her, pick up that staff and become the ring leader for once. It’s fun to play into the role reversal.
