The EWCF (Esports World Cup Foundation) announced on February 8, 2026, that CS2 (Counter-Strike 2) will be the latest title in which national teams will compete at the premier ENC 2026 (Esports Nations Cup). This memorable event is planned for November of 2026, but before we get there, teams must be chosen to even attend this prestigious opportunity.
More than 3,000 teams are gunning it to qualify for the ENC 2026 finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And these 3,000 teams contain players that total over 15,000 players, you read that right, a quintuple-digit number of players. But how can these 3,000 teams possibly qualify for the finals, and how many team slots are there in the ENC 2026?
How Will Teams Qualify For The ENC 2026 Finals?

Before the ENC 2026 event actually transpires, the mentioned 3,000 teams must first qualify for it. To qualify for the ENC 2026 event, the 3,000 teams will go through a two-stage qualification pathway. The pathway, featuring both National Qualifiers and Regional Qualifiers, will reduce the number of teams down to 24. All teams will start their qualifying games at the National Qualifiers first.
Eligible nations for the National Qualifiers are picked via VRS (Valve Regional Standings), which awards points to Clubs. The points are equally shared across all participating Club members. Once selected, teams across 96 countries and territories will compete for the chance to compete in the Regional Qualifiers.
Once completed, teams will move on to the next qualification stage, the Regional Qualifiers. During the Regional Qualifiers, teams that passed their respective National Qualifiers will fight for one of the 24 prestigious slots in the finals. And finally, the remaining 24 teams get to compete in the ENC 2026 finals to take home the Esports Nations Cup.
While this is a basic synopsis of the event, it outlines the hardships that a team must face to qualify for the event. It is a tedious task to list the full method of team selection alongside the locations where the qualifier will take place. So, to save you the trouble, I’ve summed it up for you: the competition is the spotlight, not the reading. You can visit Esports Nations Cup for more details.
Speaking of competition, let’s rewind to where CS2 will be one of the games in the ENC 2026 event. The CS2 qualifiers will take place from July 6, 2026, to July 19, 2026, and will use a newly created CS2 National Team Ranking system, namely VRS. The CS2 tournament at ENC 2026 will begin on November 10, 2026, and will conclude with the finals on November 15, 2026.
Is That It For The Esports Nations Cup 2026?

CS2 isn’t the only competition present in ENC 2026; it’s just one of many. The ENC 2026 will feature weeks of adrenaline-filled competitions across several of your favorite competitive games. So feel free to browse the roster and join in on the fun, because there’s no such thing as too much fun.
