The Battlefield 6 Season 4 RCB-90 Patrol Boat And Its Powerful Loadout

The new RCB-90 Patrol Boat added in Battlefield 6 Season 4
Reading Time: 4 minutes

With Battlefield 6 Season 4 finally here, players can finally try out the new content of the latest Season. Players get to try the new map, weapons, and, what we’ll talk about today, vehicles. But since there are only two new vehicles as of the start of Season 4, it’s a bit obvious what vehicle we’ll be talking about.

With the release of Battlefield 6 Season 4, we got two new naval vehicles to use, and one of them packs quite a punch. The vehicle in question is the RCB-90 Armored Patrol Boat, a floating IFV with the firepower to match its landlubbered variant. And just like its dry variant, it has a loadout that you can customize for both you and your gunner.

The RCB-90, added in Battlefield 6 Season 4, is quite the powerhouse when it comes to naval vehicles, at least for now. The RCB-90 comes with a 30mm autocannon and lock-on AA missiles for the driver, while the gunner has a 120mm mortar system. As usual, you can swap out these weapon systems, or shells in the case of the mortar, however you like.

The Driver’s Primary Slot

By default, the driver gets a 30mm autocannon, which is effective against infantry and lightly armored vehicles. But if you want something a little faster and a little more focused on unarmored targets and vehicles, then you can use the Heavy Rotary MG. The Heavy Rotary MG can shred its targets from close to long range, but you’ll have to deal with the waves.

The Driver’s Secondary Slot

The fun doesn’t end there either, as the naval beast of Battlefield 6 Season 4 also has a secondary weapon slot. This slot comes with two lock-on AA missiles by default, but you can change it out for a light coax machine gun or an aim-guided missile. An interesting thing about this missile is that it will lock onto aircraft after you’ve guided it close enough.

The Driver’s Equipment And Upgrade Slots

By default, the RCB-90 comes with unchangeable thermal-blocking smokes and the Sea Spear 74 wire-guided torpedo. The wire-guided torpedo will launch from the rear of the RCB-90 before it propels itself to your point of aim. You may also take Naval Mines instead, which will sit in the water and wait for an unsuspecting boat to tread on them.

But that’s not all for the latest naval vehicle in Battlefield 6 Season 4, because it has one more trick up its sleeve. If you’re near a shore or a dock, then the front of your boat will deploy a ramp, which will allow your team to use your vessel as a mobile spawn vehicle. So not only can you decimate enemy forces, but you can act as a deployment point.

The Gunner’s Shell Choices

While the driver’s seat is already unique enough, the gunner gets to try out the real belle of the ball on the RCB-90. Not only does the beast of Battlefield 6 Season 4 have an amazing arsenal for the driver, but the gunner gets to use a turreted 120mm mortar system. You can use this mortar for its intended purpose or use it for direct fire with its shells.

Speaking of shells, the shells of the RCB-90 mortar system are as follows:

  • The HE Shell: The standard shell for the mortar system that is effective against infantry and unarmored vehicles upon impact
  • The Airburst Shell: A shell that detonates in proximity to any surface and deals less damage over a much larger radius compared to the HE shell
  • The IR Smoke Shell: A smoke shell that creates a large smoke cloud upon impact
  • The HE Guided Shell: A variant of the HE shell that can lock onto laser-designated and tracer-darted targets
  • The Illumination Shell: A shell that deploys a flare with a parachute high above the battlefield that marks any enemies below it

Unfortunately, you can only pick anything that isn’t an HE shell as your secondary shell, as the HE shell is your default shell. So, you either have to inform your gunner beforehand or hope that a random gunner has the same idea as you do. Nevertheless, these shells will become very useful for your team, so you’d better use them wisely.

Is That All For The Battlefield 6 Season 4 RCB-90 Patrol Boat?

As of Battlefield 6 Season 4 Pacific Front, that is indeed all for the RCB-90, but I definitely hope that there’s more for this naval beast. It’s become one of my favorite vehicles to play, alongside the MBT and IFV, but I certainly need more practice, as helicopters have been ripping me a new one. However, that could be due to my choice of weapons.

Hopefully, after reading what you’ve read here, you’ll have no issue in adjusting your loadout to bite back at your enemies. Regardless, the new Season is here, and a new map has arrived, so get your feet wet and join the fun. And you must already know this by heart at this point, but make sure to PLAY THE OBJECTIVE.
