The Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond prepares Helldivers for the dense jungles of our home galaxy. It arrived for all Helldivers on June 13, 2024, and it was an immediate hit among them. It includes amazing cosmetics and utility items, but it also marks the start of a new format for future Warbonds.
And alongside the standard content, this Warbond was also the first to include vehicle cosmetics and player titles. These new additions to the Warbond format can be seen even in the latest Warbonds. And this new venture in change would continue, bringing a breath of fresh air to the Warbond roster.
What Is In The Lush Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond?
The Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond features the standard inventory of any Warbond, in addition to its new content. These include weapons, armor, cosmetics, and, now, vehicle cosmetics and player titles. To be specific, the items of the Viper Commandos Warbond are:
- The AR-23A Liberator Carbine: A compact version of the standard Liberator designed for close-quarters combat. This version features a higher fire rate, and due to its compact form, it also increases ergonomics. But due to its fire rate and small size, it has a higher amount of recoil.
- The SG-22 Bushwhacker: A triple-barreled, break-action, sawed-off shotgun sidearm firing buckshot. Though the description is quite a mouthful, the enemies of democracy will have a bigger mouthful of buckshot. You may also choose to either fire one shell at a time or all three 10-gauge shells via the fire selector.
- The K-2 Throwing Knife: A silent but deadly throwable capable of taking out enemies without being noticed. It stands as the first non-grenade throwable and hopefully not the last. While it doesn’t provide the usual AOE (Area of Effect) of grenades, it still delivers considerable damage.
- The PH-202 Twigsnapper (Heavy) and PH-9 Predator (Light): A set of heavy and light armor with the Peak Physique armor passive.
- The Peak Physique Armor Passive: An armor passive featured in the two sets of armor in the Viper Commandos Warbond. It increases melee damage by 100% and improves weapon ergonomics.
- The Experimental Infusion Booster: This booster enhances stims to increase movement speed and damage reduction by 10 percent. Unfortunately, as a side effect, aiming sway will increase by 25 percent during its duration.
- The Viper Commando Title: The Viper Commando player title is the first player title to appear in a Warbond. This Warbond pioneered the inclusion of these themed player titles for all future Warbonds.
- The Undergrowth Pattern: The first in a long line of patterns for both vehicles and your hellpod. These patterns are currently available for hellpods, EXO suits, and the FRV.
Additionally, the Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond also includes player cards and capes. Further complementing the rest of the swamp/jungle-themed content of the Viper Commandos Warbond. Helldivers can become true commandos and prowl through the jungle for enemies of humanity.
Prepare With The Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond
At the time, the swamp/jungle biome came to the game, making the camouflage of the Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond perfect. Plus, the close-quarters weapons for the tight environments of the new biome. Even now, these weapons excel at close-range combat in urban or jungle environments.
This Helldivers 2 Viper Commandos Warbond has shown barely any age since its release on June 13, 2024. Many Helldivers favor the close-range weapons in this warbond, especially when the Invasion of Super Earth introduced mega-cities. And the armor sets also enhance melee weapons that weren’t present at their release.
