Siege X Operation System Override is inbound for a release on June 2, 2026, and it introduces some long-awaited changes. Not only are there some long-awaited changes, but there are also a few content additions that may interest the community. Some of these may help newer players ease into the world of Siege.

Siege X Operation System Override introduces a few changes to existing game systems, which is fitting, considering the name of the Season. One of these changes affects the Ranked system, a topic of discourse since its hidden MMR change. Now, let’s stop the vagueness and get into the details of the changes and additions of the upcoming Season.

Siege X Operation System Override will arrive on June 2, 2026, with a roster of changes and additions. The changes include a new rework for Dokkaebi, which we’ve detailed before, and a highly requested change for the Ranked system. Let’s start with the main attraction of this Season, the operator rework for Dokkaebi, our very own hacker.

The Operator Rework For Dokkaebi

We’ve already gone into detail about the operator rework for Dokkaebi here, so I’ll briefly gloss over what her rework entails. With the rework, her main call ability now detonates the phones of the victims of the Jegeo Payload. Not only that, but she and a few other operators also received a new assault rifle, the XK23.

The Ranked 3.0 Rework

One of the most sought-after changes arriving in Operation System Override is the new Ranked 3.0 rework. Without getting into the nitty-gritty of how the system works, hidden MMR is now completely gone; your skill is finally your rank. But that’s not all, the new Ranked system has a few more goodies.

The new Ranked system analyzes your rank, squad size, and time and location into account when matchmaking to create balanced matches. Squadmates now must be within three ranks of each other, or two for Diamond and Champion ranks. And last but not least, placement matches have made a return.

At the beginning of each Season, all ranks will reset, and players must complete five placement matches to receive a new one. After completing the five placement matches, the game will calibrate your rank and grant you your intended rank. As mentioned, you’ll have to do this each time with the start of a new Season.

The New Map and Map Updates

Siege X Operation System Override introduces a brand new map into the map pool, Calypso Casino. Not only that, but this Season also updates a handful of older maps with new lighting, textures, and various other adjustments. The older maps affected by the update are Emerald Plains, Kanal, and Outback.

Mouse and Keyboard Support on Consoles

Starting mid-season, console players can use a mouse and keyboard in the PC cross-play pool, but not in other pools. You can decide whether a Custom Game allows mouse and keyboard with a new Input Device option added to match settings. Hopefully, this will allow console players to communicate with their team more effectively via text chat.

Unfortunately, this may also lead to more toxicity, god knows the amount of slurs coming your way. So, make sure to do your part and report these ne’er-do-wells whenever they appear. As always, try your best to remember your manners, because people have their own lives to live, so don’t be too harsh on your teammates.

The Anti-Toxicity Improvements

One change to the anti-toxicity measures that many may like is that abandonment penalties now scale with time. Meaning that your teammate who disconnected due to network issues won’t receive as harsh a punishment. I know a few of my friends will be ecstatic to hear about this; they’ve suffered one too many disconnects.

Rotating Trial Operators

Each week after the release of Siege X Operation System Override, six operators will become free for you to try. These six consist of three attackers and three defenders, and they will stay for a week before a new selection rotates in. However, if you own any of the characters on the trial roster, you may have fewer choices when selecting trial operators.

You can play trial operators for free in the following playlists:

  • Enlisted
  • Quick Match
  • Team Deathmatch
  • Unranked
  • Ranked
  • Siege Cup

Is That All For Siege X Operation System Override?

As always, Siege X Operation System Override also comes with a decent list of balancing changes and adjustments for various operators. However, I won’t be going into detail about those changes today, as I wanted to highlight the changes and additions that the upcoming Season provides. Though if you’d like to read about it, then stick around, and I just might.

Until then, get ready for the new Season, Siege X Operation System Override, because the new Ranked system is on the horizon!
