The day has arrived for the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release to make its appearance, and fans couldn’t be happier. The 1.0 release happened yesterday, on April 23, 2026, nearly two years after its early access release on July 24, 2024. And the contents that Into the Radius 2 has only grown since then.
Despite getting a preview of what’s to come in the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release during the 1.0 beta, there are still surprises in store. However, since the 1.0 release was so recent, I might’ve missed a few things, but I feel like I’ve gotten a good chunk of the surprises. So, let’s not keep you waiting any longer and get into the mentioned surprises.
The Surprise Contents Of The Into The Radius 2 1.0 Release

Besides the expected bug fixes and optimizations, the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release carries a few hidden features up its sleeve. The 1.0 release also features a few changes and adjustments that the developers have spoken about in the past; we won’t mention those here. Strictly speaking, we’ll be discussing the additions that not a soul knew about.
Of course, I don’t mean that too literally; the developers and a few others within the circle knew. To clarify, I will mention the additions that the developers haven’t revealed or spoken about. And what better way to start our list than to begin with the new equipment the UNPSC has in store?
The Equipment and Gear Additions
Upon entering the Into the Radius 2 1.0 Exchange for the first time, you may notice a few new goodies for you and your buddies. These include both cosmetic and practical equipment for you to use, some of which is particularly lethal. But danger makes things even more fun, so who doesn’t like a bit of risk?
The new equipment in question is as follows:
- The new Remington 700 chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum.
- The classic Colt M1911 chambered in both .45 ACP and 9mm Parabellum.
- The M67, RGD-5, RGN, and RGO grenades further expand the explosive catalog. You can also cook these grenades to shorten their fuze.
- More patterns for you to take your fashion skills even further than ever before.
- The guitar is now in the Exchange for you to keep yourself company while holding out for the night in a shelter.
The Gameplay Additions
The gameplay additions in the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release will be a short one, despite this list being short in and of itself. I only managed to find two additions that the developers haven’t revealed or spoken about, but two is better than none. The first feature on this short list is the addition of Steam achievements.
The list of Steam achievements is as follows:
- My New Toy: Buy your first weapon in the Exchange.
- Immortal: Complete the game in Ironman mode.
- Shoulder to Shoulder: Complete any mission in coop with another player.
- The Guide’s Reflections, Chapter 1: Find and interact with all of Lauri’s figures.
- The Guide’s Reflections, Chapter 2: Find and interact with all of Lauri’s figures.
- Teamwork: Start a coop season with another player.
- Path Chosen Together: Choose the fate of Explorer 73 and share the consequences.
- Path Chosen: Choose the fate of Explorer 73 and face the consequences.
- Welcome Gift: Test out your new immortality as instructed by the UNPSC.
- Artist: Customize anything with paint at least 50 times.
- Experimenter: Equip a weapon with at least 10 attachments.
- Friendly Fire: This one seems pretty self-explanatory. Make sure to apologize to your teammate after receiving this achievement; bullets hurt.
- Gluttony: Eat enough food to gain 3,000,000 in-game calories.
- Eliminator: Kill 300 enemies.
- Fidget: I’m unsure as to how you acquired this achievement. However, it does read, “You don’t read warnings, do you?” so a little carelessness oughta do it.
- Changing Faces: Start three coop sessions with three different players.
- Bullseye: Kill an enemy from 150 meters away.
- The 20 different achievements for completing a chapter with and without a friend.
In total, Into the Radius 2 1.0 contains 36 achievements, 20 of which I had to leave out so as not to cause bloating. The 20 achievements are for completing the 10 separate chapters by yourself for the solo version of the achievements and with a friend for the rest. After the massive amount of achievements, you may also notice that reloading feels different.
Instead of the old snapping system, the new reload uses a guiding system to increase immersion. With this new system, instead of hovering the magazine near where it’s supposed to be and having it snap into position, you guide the magazine yourself. This system is similar to how Boneworks, Bonelab, and various other VR titles make their weapons.
Is That All For The Surprise Additions Of The Into The Radius 2 1.0 Release?
As stated, this is what I could find regarding the surprise or hidden additions to the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release. There could be various other additions and changes that I missed, but give me some credit, 1.0 was just released yesterday. But enough reading, Explorer, working for the UNPSC isn’t always about paperwork, it’s about going into the Radius too!
