The Mischievous Abilities Of Black Cat In Marvel Rivals And How To Use Them

Reading Time: 5 minutes

Black Cat in Marvel Rivals has finally arrived with the version 20260417 patch as part of the mid-season update. She enters the fray after discovering that the Guilded Saint is in town, after pulling off a Trojan Horse plan against Kingpin with Spider-Man. And with the less-than-benevolent god in town, she’s forced to join in on the fight.

Black Cat in Marvel Rivals will arrive in-game for all players on April 17, 2026. Thankfully, you won’t have to wait for the update to release to see the massive ability list of Black Cat in Marvel Rivals. Using what I’ve learnt from Black Cat, I’ve skillfully acquired what her abilities are, and that’s what I’m going to share with you all today.

The Abilities Of Black Cat In Marvel Rivals

Black Cat in Marvel Rivals features one of the largest ability sets out of any character I’ve seen in the game. She contains three whole pages of abilities, though it’s technically only two full pages, but it’s still quite an amount. I’ll start this massive list of abilities for Black Cat in Marvel Rivals with her attacks.

Black Cat’s Attacks

Black Cat has two attacks, one main attack and one that requires an ability to activate it. Her main attack, Feline Fury, sees her slashing in front of her with her razor-sharp claws. Her second attack, Claw Whip, enables her to fire out tethered claws in an arc to deliver devastating damage to any foe caught in it.

Black Cat’s Abilities

Calling Card

Calling Card is Black Cat’s ultimate ability, and it certainly fits the bill of an ultimate ability. When activated, Black Cat spreads her calling cards to all enemies before instantly dashing to enemies in sight and range to tear them apart. When hit, enemies will receive percentage-based damage depending on how much health they have.

Cat’s Cradle

Cat’s Cradle lets Black Cat lunge forward to slice through enemies in front of her with her sharp claws. This ability is similar to Black Panther’s Spirit Rend or Spinning Kick, without the vibranium enhancements, of course. You can also use Cat’s Cradle as a movement ability if things get dire, but she’s got a few mobility abilities, so you shouldn’t have to worry.

Turn of Fortune and Phantom Pursuit

Turn of Fortune and Phantom Pursuit occupy the same ability slot, so you’ll have to swap between them to use one or the other. Turn of Fortune launches a grappling hook ahead of Black Cat to damage enemies upon impact and steals Fortune. Fortune will come in handy later, so you’ll have to wait and see what it does.

Phantom Pursuit, on the other hand, allows her to dash to an enemy before unleashing a flurry of claw attacks while being untargetable. After turning her enemy into a totaled scratching post, Black Cat returns to her starting position like she never left in the first place. Hopefully, this ability will allow her to damage enemies without having to lose too much health.

Thieving Grace

As mentioned, Black Cat in Marvel Rivals has a few mobility abilities at her disposal; a slow burglar wouldn’t be able to do much after all. While Thieving Grace has a fancy name, it’s the same as any other double jump ability. And Black Cat’s mobility abilities don’t end there either; there’s more to come.

Fortune’s Favor

If you think that Claw Whip and Phantom Pursuit sounded a little too good for simple abilities, then you’d be right. For you to activate these abilities, you must use Black Cat’s Fortune’s Favor ability. Using Fortune’s Favor activates either Claw Whip or Phantom Pursuit at the cost of Black Cat’s currency, Fortune.

Guilded Deal

If you thought that spending currency on only two abilities seemed too little, then this is where the fun begins. Guilded Deal allows you to reach into a dimensional rift to barter with the Gilded Saint for relics with Fortune from the New York Thieves Guild Vault. The relics that you can purchase and use are as follows:

  • Tablet of Destinies: Gain a random amount of Fortune
  • Helms of Hades: Become invisible for a set duration
  • Faltine Flame Orb: Summon an orb of mystical Faltine Flame to reveal and mark nearby enemies
  • Chernobog’s Crystal: Instantly remove any active control effects
  • Ring of Zona: Allows Black Cat to open a portal on a surface to teleport to the other side
  • Mento-Fish: Create a hypnosis field that grounds and deactivates the movement abilities of enemies caught within.

Black Cat’s Passives

With great abilities comes great passives, and Black Cat in Marvel Rivals has some interesting passives. Black Cat features one team-up passive that affects two heroes and two personal passives for her to excel as the cat burglar she is. Let’s start with the team-up passive of Black Cat in Marvel Rivals.

Gift of Gold

Gift of Gold shares Black Cat’s luck with her allies, who are Captain America and White Fox as of Season 7.5. White Fox can embrace the luck to set loose tracking Spirit Tails to heal and speed up allies while damaging and slowing enemies. Captain America can now deflect projectiles back more accurately and has an expanded block radius.

Stealthy Catwalk

Stealthy Catwalk is the second, technically third, movement ability of Black Cat in Marvel Rivals. This passive ability allows Black Cat to crawl up vertical surfaces, just like her arachnid friend, Spider-Man. Unfortunately, she isn’t the fastest when she’s climbing walls, so make sure your back isn’t turned to the enemy when climbing.

Malkin Misfortune

Malkin Misfortune pins a jinx on any enemy that Black Cat hits, and it isn’t fun getting jinxed. While jinxed, enemies have a chance to lose the bonus damage you usually get when landing a critical hit. So, when you land a hit that would usually eliminate a hero, and it doesn’t, then you’ll know exactly what might have caused it.

Sticky Paws

Sticky Paws is the money maker for Black Cat in Marvel Rivals, the money in question being Fortune. When Black Cat lands a hit on an enemy, she gains a set amount of Fortune, so the more she hits, the more money she gains. So, if you want to use Gilded Deal more often, then you’d better land more of your shots.

Is That All For The Abilities Of Black Cat In Marvel Rivals?

I’m a good student, so I didn’t leave a stone unturned regarding Black Cat in Marvel Rivals and her abilities. However, things can change after the fact, so what I have here is accurate as of her release on April 17, 2026. So, now that you know what her abilities are, how will you use them when she releases?

Let me know, or not, a good thief never reveals their secrets, after all. So, when she finally releases, show the world what a true cat burglar looks like!
