On December 19, 2025, 2080 Games released the Tactical Assault VR Orion update, which brings free and paid content. Of course, much of the new content is free, while the paid options are merely cosmetic with a few fun toys thrown in. However, before we discuss the paid content, let’s talk about the free content everyone can enjoy.

The Tactical Assault VR Orion update introduces a new mission, visual upgrades for old missions, cosmetics, and weapons. And with the winter season rolling in and getting fiercer, what better time than to have the new mission be snow-themed? So without another word, let’s delve into the contents of the Tactical Assault VR Orion update.

The Free Content Of The Tactical Assault VR Orion Update

First up on the list of Tactical Assault VR Orion content is the new mission set in a new snowy landscape. In the new Orion mission, you must navigate a snowy hellscape to locate and disarm a missile launcher vehicle. This missile launcher has its aim set for the neighboring city, so you’d better make your search quick before it’s too late.

Not only are the civilians in the explosion radius in danger, but the civilians in your operating area are also in danger. So while you search for the missile launcher, you must ensure the safe exfiltration of the civilians in your surrounding area. With that said, make sure you PID (Positive Identification) your targets before you fire.

The new map isn’t the only one that received some love; the developers decided to revamp a couple of older maps. Both Trident Lightning and the Room Randomizer have received significant changes to their overall graphical fidelity. And speaking of PIDing before shooting, let’s talk about the new guns you’ll be using.

The Tactical Assault VR Orion update introduces a handful of new weapons for your arsenal. These weapons are the famous MP5K (9x19mm), AUG HBAR (5.56x45mm), RPK (7.62x39mm), and the RPK-74 (5.45×39). This update also introduces a few free cosmetics for you fashionistas out there.

The Tactical Assault VR Orion update introduces a brand-new DLC pack, the FBI Special Agent pack. The pack includes the HRT Rifle (5.56x45mm), CSR Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle (.308 Caliber), MP5/10 (10mm Auto), and the G23 pistol (.40 Caliber). This pack also includes several FBI-themed cosmetics.

The Operation: Dahlia DLC pack also received an update to its contents. The new update for this pack includes the new mission, Clipped Wings, which sees you hunting HVTs in a South American favela. This DLC pack also includes a new Taser for non-lethal takedowns and FBI Essentials cosmetics.

With both of these DLCs you can cosplay as your favorite FBI agents from your favorite shows. But can you live up to their fame and expertise is the question. However, although this is a game, it’s certainly more realistic than most shows that the FBI star in, so be careful.

Is That It For The Tactical Assault VR Orion Update?

These are only the content additions for the Tactical Assault VR Orion update; we haven’t even touched on the patch notes. The patch notes contain many balancing changes, optimizations, and minor adjustments for the game. And to list them all would take days, so the better way to experience these changes is to play the game.
