The Helldivers 2 Orbital Strikes come in a variety of lethal and non-lethal options for the battlefield. Giving Helldivers an Orbital Strike for every occasion. Now, let’s begin with one of the first Helldivers 2 Orbital Strikes that Helldivers gain access to, the Orbital Precision Strike.

The Orbital Precision Strike

The Orbital Precision Strike is one of the first Helldivers 2 Orbital Strikes, but that doesn’t mean it’s weak. Despite most games having beginner’s gear being weak, Helldivers 2 does it very differently. The OPS (Orbital Precision Strike) is an offensive stratagem that fires a single massive 406mm, high-damaging, explosive shell.

The OPS can destroy just about any enemy short of the Factory Strider, Bile Titan, and Harvester. The OPS can kill the Bile Titan with a strike to the head or rear, and the Factory Strider once its head armor is compromised. Unfortunately, the Harvester has explosive-resistant armor, making it durable and resistant against the OPS.

Not only can the OPS take down enemies, but it can also demolish structures with its powerful demolition force. These structures include:

  • Detector Towers
  • Rogue Research Stations
  • Fabricators
  • Bile Titan holes
  • Illuminate Warp Ships, even if their shields are up.

Unfortunately, the OPS cannot destroy specific structures, such as:

  • Automaton Fuel Reserves
  • Automaton Air Base Control Towers
  • Automaton Gunship Facilities
  • Automaton Orbital Cannon
  • Illuminate Monoliths

The Orbital Gas Strike

The Orbital Gas Strike doesn’t come free like the OPS, but it is purchasable at level one. The OGS (Orbital Gas Strike) fires a shell that disperses a caustic gas around the impact zone and lingers. Although the OGS doesn’t provide high damage, it delivers a disorientating effect against your enemies.

The caustic gas of the OGS confuses enemies into attacking everything around it instead of just you. The gas can cause a horde of enemies to turn on each other, reducing their numbers with ease. The OGS also has the same demolition force as the OPS, allowing it to destroy the same structures.

The Orbital Airburst Strike

The OAS (Orbital Airburst Strike), unlockable at level five, deals damage with submunitions instead of a single projectile. The OAS launches a projectile that disperses submunitions to carpet an entire area full of shrapnel. Thus, eliminates its demolition properties, but the OAS trades that in for massive coverage instead of focused damage.

However, there is a chance that the OAS can destroy structures, but that is a rare occurrence. The OAS can destroy Illegal Broadcast Towers, Fabricators, and Bug Holes, but only when one of its submunitions gets into the vents or the hole itself. Other than that, the OAS lacks any destructive capabilities against structures.

The Orbital EMS Strike

The EMS Strike trades out any damage potential in exchange for unparalleled stunning capabilities. Unlockable at level five, the EMS Strike stops enemies in their tracks so that you and your team can run away. Or you can choose the courageous option and use the EMS Strike to flock enemies to take them all out at once.

The Orbital EMS Strike also shares the demolition force of the OPS, so its offensive capabilities aren’t completely missing.

The Orbital Smoke Strike

Unlockable at level eight, the OSS (Orbital Smoke Strike) launches a barrage of smoke shells from the Super Destroyer. These smoke shells saturate an area with concealing smoke for your team to reposition around the enemy. Projectile enemies will shoot mindlessly through the smoke, while melee enemies will lose track of you.

And just like a few of the previous Helldivers 2 Orbital Strikes, the OSS has the same demolition force as the OPS.

The Orbital Railcannon Strike

The most powerful of the Helldivers 2 Orbital Strikes, the ORS (Orbital Railcannon Strike) trumps the rest of the orbitals. Unlockable at level 20, the ORS trivializes most enemies except for Factory Striders, Hive Lords, and Leviathans. However, due to its long cooldown time, Helldivers must choose their targets wisely.

Luckily, the ORS targets the largest enemy around its stratagem ball.

There are many Helldivers 2 Orbital Strikes, but which one is the best one to use against the enemies of humanity? As stated previously, Helldivers 2’s design is unlike other games, so there isn’t a clear best option to use. Instead, every Orbital Strike stratagem has a different use out on the battlefield.
