Arrowhead has just announced the arrival of the Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust major update on September 2, 2025. The Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update is similar to its predecessors, such as the Escalation of Freedom update. And like its predecessors, the Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update will present significant changes to Helldivers 2.
With the Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update coming in less than a week, Helldivers are delighted for the update. And this excitement is further multiplied by the new Dust Devils Warbond arriving just two days after the major update. But what will Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust give to the players, and how will it change Helldivers 2’s history?
What The Helldivers 2: Into The Unjust Update Will Bring To Helldivers 2
The Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update will bring whole new missions and threats that the Helldivers must face. These missions will have Helldivers traverse the treacherous gloom-corrupted landscapes of the Terminid hive worlds. And during these missions, Helldivers will have to fend off against brand new enemies of humanity.
The following new locations, exclusive missions, and terrifying menaces within them are:
Hive Worlds
With the release of the Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update, Hive Worlds will make an appearance. Hive Worlds are the planets we once called home that have now been corrupted by the Gloom. These Hive Worlds feature towering structures and deep, dark caves that open up to expansive caverns, with occasional sunlight from ravines.
And when Helldivers dare enter these caves, they must make sure to prepare before entering. Since these caves block any access from Super Destroyer support, Helldivers won’t receive any fire support or resupplies. Thankfully, these caves open up to ravines where Helldivers can reinforce and resupply their whole squad.
Exclusive Hive World Objectives
With the future introduction of the Hive Worlds in the Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update comes new exclusive missions. The first one is the “Destroy Hive Lung” mission type, where Helldivers must journey into the deep Terminid underdark. After entering the caves, Helldivers must destroy the Hive Lungs, the very things producing the Gloom.
The second mission, “Mobile Oil Rig”, sees Helldivers traversing the open surface with a massive vehicle. This vehicle is critical to the operation; Helldivers drive it to locations where it will then drill for oil. And to make protecting the oil rig easier, it features an autocannon on its roof for Helldivers to use.
New Foes To Combat
Once Helldivers arrive, they will encounter a new subterranean species of Terminid Warriors, Bile Spewers, and Chargers. These new species will burrow underground and move to their prey before bursting out from the ground to attack. And it doesn’t stop there, Helldivers must watch for the skies as a new threat descends upon them.
The Dragonroach rips through the skies with its vile wings and dives down on Helldivers to spew its burning bile. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of information on this wretched beast, so Helldivers will have to go in blind. Though this also applies to the new subterranean species, so stay vigilant and don’t let your guard down.
There have also been disturbing reports of earthquakes, similar to the rumbles of the new subterranean species. Except bigger, much bigger, but Super Earth high command assures that it isn’t of any concern.
What To Expect In The Helldivers 2: Into The Unjust update
With the reveal of Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust and some of its content, players wonder if there’s more. And just like its predecessors, there will definitely be more, whether it be hidden additions or just normal patch notes. But one thing is for sure: the Helldivers 2: Into the Unjust update will be a great one.
