VR apps and accessories are always welcome when it comes to setting up your own VR headset after getting it. With so much to look at and choose from, it may not be very clear which options help with what.

Thankfully, after using VR for a while, I have some recommendations that will help almost anyone new to VR. Some things are well known, while others may be a bit more niche, but there is a use for everything here.

Amazing VR Apps and Accessories to Check Out

Another thing many people enjoy having is VR apps, allowing more uses or helping with information, the cost being money. I’ll keep this section short due to how limited the apps are, and they can be found on Steam.

In games like Vrchat, body trackers allow the game to, well, track your body movements besides your head and hands. It is often welcomed, with some people hosting parties while doing tricks and other activities, with the amount of movement it allows.

The first application is YUR, one of the best fitness-related VR apps that tracks calories and how much time it takes to burn them. Personally, this app is one I always recommend, as the calorie tracker is always super close, only being off by ten mostly.

The second VR app is OVR Advanced Settings, an app that many long-time VR users enjoy, and for good reasons. It allows you free movement and some extra options that help really sell the uses of VR games.

Finally, I will end the apps off with Standable. This app works best with body trackers, allowing even more movement. It predicts movements that don’t have trackers rather well, as well as having custom settings for sitting and lying down.

Best VR Accessories to Consider

The first VR accessory people may want to get is a connection cord to hook up to their laptop or PC. These don’t come with most VR headsets that are not over a thousand USD, but they are not that expensive to buy.

They allow you to have higher frames and play games on Steam if you own VR titles on there. Most come over six feet, and cost less than a hundred USD with shipping included.

Another item many consider getting is a different strap for their VR headsets, considering their limitations. Straps often don’t push over a hundred USD as well, but have the least amount of options to choose from.

The cheaper end straps allow adjustments to how tightly the VR headset is fitted to the face while still being comfortable. The more expensive straps may include a battery pack with them, allowing extra charge and play time for more money.

The final accessory often costs as much as VR, if not more, with it being body trackers for more emotions. Body trackers aren’t needed at all, but are loved by many due to how fun they can be.
