The Valorant Rank reset is right on the horizon. Riot’s Shooter switched from an episode system (two episodes per year with 3 acts each) to a yearly season model divided into six Acts (2 months per Act, approximately) earlier this year.

In the Shooter, players attempt to climb the ranked ladder in each Act. To keep the game new and make it more replayable, Riot resets the player’s rank after each Act, allowing the player to start afresh. Riot revealed their plans in the most recent patch notes, which we shall discuss in more detail in this post.

Valorant Rank Reset Is Inevitable Upon New Season

In the recent patch notes, Riot confirmed that a rank reset is coming to Valorant. It is not a major rank reset, and it will only cause a slight drop-off from current ranks. They have also reset the maximum rank a player can place from Ascendant 1 to Ascendant 3.

Now, let us look at what else Patch Notes 11.0 has to offer. Agent abilities are being adjusted; more on it later in the article. Suppression Visual effects of agents like Breach, Sova, Clove, Killjoy, Cypher, Omen, and Brimstone are being updated to improve the clarity of the debuff.

A new competitive map “Corrode”, is being introduced to the game. The Map introduction will feature a Corrode Only queue in Swiftplay for five days to help the players learn the map. For the first two weeks, any competitive matches lost on the map will have a fifty percent reduction of lost RR, while matches won will still be 100% gain. Riot devs think this will entice the players into not dodging any matches on the map.

What Other Changes Are Coming To Valorant Alongside Rank Reset?

Waylay

Riot devs noticed Waylay has been consistently weak across all skill levels and have decided to buff her a bit.

Her Refract ability will have a lower minimum and maximum time inside the ability from 0.5 seconds to 0.35 seconds and 3 seconds to 2 seconds, respectively.

They have also reduced unequip delay after lightspeed to make the Lightspeed-Refract loop much easier to play around with. They buffed the Saturate ability to justify its 300 credits cost.

Reyna

Devs say her Leer ability caused trouble to players, making it feel like it was much Tankier than other comparable shootable objects. Especially when it was unclear if it was hit or not.

Leer now has reduced HP (from 100 to 80), and they have also added audio and visual hit confirmation feedback.

Neon

Her Relay Bolt will have increased Windup(0.8 seconds to 1 second). Players will now have enough time to react to her stun.

Pheonix

His Curveball will have increased Windup(0.5 seconds to 0.6 seconds). Players will find it a bit easier to dodge his flashes now.

This Rank reset update is bringing a lot of new changes. Players have to gain their ranks back, adding a new map and making much-needed changes to clarify issues that the game faces, which is a huge quality-of-life update.
