Fatshark has revealed a new enemy, and it’s none other than the Darktide Ogryn Pack Master and his gaggle of hounds. This massive Ogryn monstrosity and its lackeys will make their appearance in the next Warhammer 40K Darktide update. And while information about the update is limited, we do know about the two enemies accompanying it.
The information about these new enemies comes from the recent Darktide Ogryn Pack Master teaser. This teaser reveals some details about the Ogryn Pack Master and the new Armored Pox Hound that it’ll bring with it. So without further ado, let’s see what the new monstrosity and its rabid dogs have to offer.
The Darktide Ogryn Pack Master And Its Pack
The next update for Warhammer 40K Darktide is well on its way, and the Darktide Ogryn Pack Master is coming with it. And the Ogryn won’t be alone, its armored Pox Hounds are coming with it to maul any foe in its path. But let’s start with the mastermind first, the Ogryn Pack Master monstrosity.
The Ogryn Pack Master
The main enemy attraction of the upcoming update, the Ogryn Pack Master, emerges in Tertium as a new monstrosity. The Ogryn Pack Master enters the fray as the first non-demonic and non-mutated monstrosity in the enemy roster. But that doesn’t mean that the Ogryn Pack Master won’t be as powerful as their peers.
The Pack Master is scarily fast for its size, and your reaction might be similar to how dem ‘umies react to Space Marines. And it’ll use this speed to get in close to clobber you with its massive shock prod; it’ll also apply a debuff to players when hit. The debuff in question will leave you with a speed debuff and slower dodge regeneration.
Not only that, the Darktide Ogryn Pack Master won’t be alone when you encounter it; it’s called the Pack Master for a reason. The pack in question comprises Pox Hounds and their armored variants that accompany the Ogryn. And because this Ogryn is familiar with hounds, Arbites players should take caution when sending in their Mastiffs.
The Armored Pox Hound
Another new foe arriving in the upcoming update is the Armored Pox Hound, the armored version of the standard Pox Hound. These guys will charge you in the same way as the unarmored variants, but due to their armor, they are much slower. And when you parry their tackle, you can circle to hit their back weakspot while they’re stunned.
The Darktide Ogryn Pack Master will have a mix of Pox Hounds and Armored Pox Hounds. Sometimes, it’ll only have normal Pox Hounds, and other times it will have all Armored Pox Hounds. But the more important thing is that these hounds will keep spawning for as long as the Pack Master is alive.
Another thing about the Amored Pox Hound is that it’s only present when the Pack Master is around, so keep an eye out when they’re around.
Is The Darktide Ogryn Pack Master And Its Hounds The Only Thing Teased?
Sadly, the Darktide Ogryn Pack Master and its hounds are the only things we have on the upcoming Warhammer 40K Darktide update. But Fatshark will reveal more and more as we get closer to the upcoming Darktide update. And when that happens, you’ll know exactly where to go to get that news.
