Christmas has come early, and it’s going hot as the 83 Steam NextFest demo releases for the Steam NextFest. From October 13 to October 20, Steam users can try out countless demos for upcoming games in the Steam NextFest. Among these demos is the ’83 Steam NextFest demo from the team behind the beloved Red Orchestra and Rising Storm series.

’83 is the latest game from the developers of Red Orchestra and Rising Storm, who are now called Blue Dot Games. In the ’83 Steam NextFest demo, the developers plan to improve the game alongside players. The ’83 Steam NextFest demo also lets players satiate their hunger for realistic shooters, but what is in the ’83 Steam NextFest demo?

Before we get into the contents of the 83 Steam NextFest demo, let’s delve into what ’83 is first. ’83 is a realistic, PvP, first-person shooter set in a fictional world where the Cold War went hot. ’83 also features combined arms battles across sprawling maps with objectives built for teamplay in mind.

’83 is designed with accessible realism, meaning that everyone can enjoy the fast action without losing the realistic feel. With the combination of high lethality and team-based objectives, teamwork is imperative for victory. Now that you know what ’83 is, let’s get into what the ’83 Steam NextFest demo contains.

The 83 Steam NextFest demo features an early build of the game, chock-full of bugs and unfinished content. However, that is normal as the developers must work on the rest of the core features before refining everything. Although the demo for ’83 is barren, the core features it does have are enough to consider it a working game.

The core features that ’83 has include the Norwegian Fjord map, Assault game mode, several character classes, and various weapons and equipment. The Norwegian Fjord is a mountainous environment with vertical gameplay, lush terrain, and claustrophobic chokepoints. And players get to play the Assault mode on this map, where two teams must either attack or defend various objectives.

The two teams that players can play as in the demo are the NATO and PACT factions. As of the demo, NATO contains the United States Army, and PACT contains the Soviet Ground Forces, so you’ll see some familiar weapons in the arsenal. And these weapons are what you’ll be using with the classes in the ’83 Steam NextFest demo.

The mentioned classes are the Rifleman, Machine Gunner, Marksman, Grenadier, Anti-Tank, and Spec Ops classes. There are also unique Commander, Squad Leader, and classes that feature special abilities to help your team. Within these classes are the iconic weapons mentioned earlier, such as the M16, AK-74, and many more.

The 83 Steam NextFest demo is just a taste of the Early Access version that’s arriving soon. Once the early access releases, players will get to enjoy even more of 83 that the 83 Steam NextFest demo doesn’t provide. This includes drivable vehicles, more maps, more game modes, and 80-player servers instead of the demo’s 60-player limit.

Now download the 83 Steam NextFest demo before you miss out on it, and remember to PID your targets before firing.
