The Into the Radius 2 1.0 beta has just arrived, and it introduces a few features that no one could have ever guessed. Despite the several devblogs and the 1.0 release teaser, the beta still surprised the community with its additions. However, as always, these are welcome surprises that the community accepts with open arms.
The Into the Radius 2 1.0 beta became available on April 3, 2026, two days after the 1.0 release date reveal video. The beta includes many features that we’ve mentioned in the past, along with new ones that only came to light with the public beta. So, let’s explore the stealthy features the 1.0 beta has in store for us.
The Sneaky Additions Of The Into The Radius 2 1.0 Beta

While we have spoken in detail about the features you’ll see once Into the Radius 1.0 releases, the beta still has some tricks up its sleeve. The 1.0 beta does include the features that we’ve discussed in the past, but we’re not here to cosplay broken records. To do that, let’s start with the first of the new additions, the new equipment.
The New Equipment
The New Food Items
You’re bound to get hungry when sitting around your base or when you’re out and about. Luckily, there are some new food options in the shop for you to eat besides the dry crackers, salty fish, and sugary protein bar. These new food options in the Into the Radius 2 1.0 beta come in the form of the familiar canned meat and canned Pineapples.
With these new dietary additions, you can broaden your taste buds a little more while in the anomalous zone. You and your friends can now truly dine like kings with the relatively large spread of delicacies. And you know what they say, an army marches on its stomach, so make sure to fill up before doing anything strenuous.
The New Night Operation Gear
I’ve mentioned night vision goggles in the previous Into the Radius 2 1.0 article, but we mentioned that we didn’t know how detailed these would be. Thankfully, the 1.0 beta shows us how detailed night vision equipment actually is. Night vision goggles will come in four forms, each providing different degrees of clarity and field of view.
You can also pair your nods with the new visible and IR laser module, which you can mount on your weapon or helmet. You can switch between a visible green laser for day operations and an infrared laser for night operations. But if night vision isn’t to your taste or you’re not wealthy enough to purchase them, then there’s one shining light of hope left.
We meant the shining light part literally, by the way, as flares are making a reappearance in Into the Radius 2 1.0 beta. The flare in question is a handheld version that deploys a parachute to float down when deployed into the air while illuminating the surrounding area below. These flares can help you navigate the darkness without emptying your savings.
The New Weapons
Grenade launchers have made appearances in several devblogs leading up to the 1.0 beta, but normal grenades seem to have gone unnoticed. Well, there’s no need to worry as the Into the Radius 2 1.0 beta introduces the F-1 grenade, a classic in shooters. And it doesn’t end there either, as another weapon type makes a return from the first Into the Radius.
You may remember that you could eat your rations with a knife in the first Into the Radius. You can do that again in Into the Radius 2 as the knife makes its humble return to your loadout. Of course, the knife isn’t just to poke at your ration chunks; it’s also a melee weapon for you to use when things get too cramped.
The New World Changes
The New Exploration Fog
When traveling out of your base, you may notice that unexplored locations are now completely covered in fog on your map. But don’t fret, the fog will only stay until you explore that area on your map. This change should let you track what you have and haven’t explored much more easily, so let’s see what you’ve learned from Dora the Explorer.
The New Anomalies
While exploring, you may encounter a few new anomalies in the Into the Radius 2 1.0 beta that will get in your way if you’re not careful. While it’s vague, the developers have hinted at what these anomalies do when you encounter them. The first of these new anomalies seemingly latches onto you and explodes, while the other one completely consumes all light around it.
Is That Everything In The Into The Radius 2 1.0 Beta?

Obviously, that isn’t everything in the Into the Radius 2 1.0 beta, but it is everything that the developers managed to sneak in. The full patch notes for the beta contain much more than what I’ve listed here, though the purpose of this article wasn’t to list everything. The full patch notes are quite extensive, so I recommend you check them out for yourself.
However, if reading a huge list isn’t your thing, why not try out the beta for yourself? You can skip the spoilers of reading patch notes and experience it all for yourself, surprises and all. Whether or not you’ll get right into it or prepare yourself by reading the patch notes, I hope to see you out there, fellow Explorers!
