Apollo in Deadlock marks the end of the new hero votes, as he is the final hero added in the Old Gods New Blood update. Although Apollo was memed to oblivion for being the last-picked hero, his kit is certainly not something to joke about. The sudden power trip players received from playing Apollo in Deadlock definitely shocked many in the Cursed Apple.
Apollo in Deadlock arrived on February 13, 2026, as the last hero added to the new update. He’s here to grace us with his elegant, albeit snobby, presence and to prove to everyone that he’s the best of them all. So let’s see if he is the best there is in the Cursed Apple, or if he’s about to get humbled into the ground.
The Abilities Of Apollo In Deadlock

Apollo in Deadlock features many abilities that require a certain level of finesse, just like Apollo’s entire philosophy. And if you can master the required level of accuracy and precision, you can hold down entire lanes by yourself. So, let’s start with Apollo’s primary weapon, the Pride of Ixia itself.
Pride of Ixia
The Pride of Ixia is a fencing sword that is the medium-range projectile primary weapon of Apollo in Deadlock. It deals 17 damage per shot and shoots 2.63 shots per second from its 15-round ammo capacity. After calculating the damage and fire rate of the Pride of Ixia, it comes out to 44 damage per second.
Disengaging Sigil
Disengaging Sigil sees Apollo in Deadlock drawing a sigil in front of him and leaping backwards before the sigil explodes. Enemies caught in the explosive receive 100 spirit damage and 30% slower movement speed. The explosion covers a 6.5m radius, and the slow effect lasts for four seconds.
The upgrades for Disengaging Sigil are as follows:
- The first upgrade increases its spirit damage by 30, bringing it up to 130 spirit damage.
- The second upgrade buffs Apollo with 20% faster fire rate and 50% more bullet speed for 10 seconds.
- The third upgrade restores two of his stamina and resets his air jump and air dash limit upon hitting a player.
Riposte
Riposte allows Apollo to deflect incoming attacks, rendering enemies stunned and vulnerable to attacks. Successfully deflecting an attack sends Apollo forward with invulnerability to stun and reduce the melee resistance of enemies by 22%. His invulnerability lasts for 0.3 seconds, stun lasts for 0.6 seconds, and the debuff lasts for three seconds.
The upgrades and their effects for Riposte are as follows:
- The first upgrade reduces Riposte’s cooldown by seven seconds, leaving it with a 19-second cooldown.
- The next upgrade increases the melee resist debuff by 22%, further debuffing enemies with a -44% melee resistance.
- The final upgrade lengthens the time enemies remain stunned by 1.2 seconds, totaling 1.8 seconds of stun.
Flawless Advance
With Flawless Advance, Apollo in Deadlock lunges in any direction before performing a piercing stab where you aim. Holding the ability key will increase the amount of damage dealt from 25 to 40 spirit damage. If timed correctly, you can deal 65 spirit damage, and this is repeatable up to three times.
The upgrades for and their effects on Flawless Advance are as follows:
- The first upgrade for Flawless Advance heals Apollo for 30 health when hitting a hero with a perfect hit.
- The next upgrade grants Apollo increased speed and 60% bullet resistance during his lunge. The cooldown of Flawless Advance also gets a 10-second reduction, leaving it with a 16-second cooldown.
- The third and final upgrade increases the perfect damage by 65, bringing it up to 130 spirit damage. This upgrade also increases the spirit scaling of the base, max, and perfect damage of Flawless Advance, bringing them up to 0.6, 0.9, and 1.8, respectively. And finally, it increases the distance of Flawless Advance’s lunge dash.
Itani Lo Sahn
When Apollo in Deadlock channels Itani Lo Sahn, he freezes in place to charge up a long-range slash. When Itani Lo Sahn finishes channeling, Apollo slashes through the air, slowing enemies and preventing them from healing or doing any action. After the slow effect ends, enemies take 225 spirit damage, and enemies under 50% health take 60% more damage.
The upgrades for the ultimate ability of Apollo in Deadlock are as follows:
- The first upgrade increases the dash range by 8m, increasing it to 35m.
- The second upgrade reduces Itani Lo Sahn’s cooldown by 40 seconds, resulting in an 85-second cooldown.
- The final upgrade increases the bonus damage done to low-health enemies by 40%, increasing it to 100%.
How Should I Play Apollo In Deadlock?

Apollo in Deadlock features high spirit damage and movement potential with his abilities. This allows him to excel in duels, but he has many downsides that bring him down a few notches from his high horse. Apollo in Deadlock is highly reliant on his abilities, as his primary weapon is mediocre compared to his peers.
So, focus on spirit and ability cooldown items if you want to have a chance at besting your foes in battle. And once you have those items and master your accuracy and precision to a fine edge, you’ll reach the top in no time. Of course, this isn’t a solo venture; you’re doing this for you and your team, right?
Now push your lane, the Hidden King demands it!
