Helldivers 2 has been in a rough patch, but the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission is promising. And although the recent performance patch has been patchy, to say the least, it’s still a decent start. As Arrowhead stated, “This is just the opening salvo in an ongoing campaign to improve performance across the fleet.”
While the quote highlights performance improvements, it still applies to their ongoing efforts to improve the game. And with the latest Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission, Helldivers are more hopeful than ever, with some being rightfully cautious. So, if you haven’t heard of this transmission for yourself, let me break it down for you.
The Contents Of The Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression Transmission

The Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission touches upon two critical gameplay features that players have yearned for. The features in question are community progression and personal progression, which we’ll talk about shortly. And by “shortly”, I mean right now, so let’s begin this rundown with the community progression first.
The Community Progression
The first thing that we’ll talk about in the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission is the community progression. Community progression covers both the entire Galactic War and the individual battles held on lone planets. Let’s begin with the first part of the planned community progression changes, the Galactic War.
The Galactic War Changes
I know I’ve split the breakdown into two parts back-to-back, but trust me, there’s a lot, so we’re going to need it. But to bring us back to the topic, the planned changes to the Galactic War will culminate in the new Galactic War Campaign system. This new system will replace the current Major Orders to clear the confusion that current players have faced.
The first thing this system fixes is the confusion players face about the consequences of certain campaigns. For example, campaigns involving the ever-expanding void made by the Exostorms lack clear consequences. So, with this new system in place, players will be briefed on what happens if the order fails or succeeds.
This system will also assist those who are late to the party for standard or massive campaigns, such as the invasion of Cyberstan. It will assist players of varying attendance by offering up-to-date briefings on the current campaign. Hopefully, this will help catch any tardy Helldivers up to speed so that they can deploy into the fight ASAP.
This system will feature new campaigns that last around one to three weeks, depending on their complexity. Not only that, but they’ll provide more than just 50 or so medals, as Arrowhead plans to improve campaign rewards and how you can earn them. These rewards can range from gameplay-altering effects to cool items, but we’ll have to wait and see.
To summarize, this new system will make the community war effort much more exciting for players. Not only that, but players will be able to understand what’s happening and join the fight quicker with the same mindset as their peers. And last, but definitely not least, this is all coming this month, so get ready.
The Planet Warfront System
The Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission also mentioned the Planet Warfront system, which is a rather ambitious feature. The Planet Warfront system will expand the gameplay of individual planets to feel much closer to a real-life war effort. This system expands planetary Operations beyond its current version.
Players will have to fight their way to strategic locations to spearhead the liberation of certain planets. Not only that, but players will then be able to complete special Operations, like liberating a city in a certain amount of time or disabling enemy artillery, to unlock crucial Operations. Sadly, there won’t be a release date for this feature for quite some time.
However, more details about this will arrive in the coming months as Arrowhead continues to develop this idea.
The Player Progression
We’ve finally moved on to the player progression section of the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission. This section of the transmission details the progression of the individual player and not the wider community. And what better way to start this section than to talk about Personal Orders?
The Personal Campaign Progression System
The current Personal Order system conflicts with the game in a few ways, namely, making you fight bugs on a bot Major Order. But with the upcoming Personal Campaign Progression system, you won’t have to worry about abandoning your fellow Helldivers on the front lines. In addition, it may also give you more rewards than mere medals.
The Personal Campaign Progression system won’t deploy alongside the new Galactic War Campaign system, but it will later this year. The purpose of this system is to provide a personal progression reward track alongside the main campaign. This system allows you to earn rewards even if the community fails to complete a campaign.
But this system only provides rewards and cool trinkets, not gameplay, and that’s exactly what we’ll talk about next.
The Upcoming Ship Progression and Customization
Last but not least of the big subjects in the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission is the new upcoming ship content. With ship content coming to a screeching halt years ago, players have requested, and demanded for some, for more. Thankfully, Arrowhead has finally listened, despite taking quite a while to do so, but a win is a win.
Arrowhead is working on an overhaul of the ship module system that changes how ship gameplay works. They do this by significantly expanding progression options, providing players with more agency. And most exciting of all, they’re adding entirely new ships with their own unique progression paths, specializations, and customizations.
Unfortunately, Arrowhead couldn’t share much more regarding this in the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission. However, they will be sharing much more later this year, and they’ve said that’s for certain. But as always, take it with a grain of salt and be cautiously optimistic, because I wouldn’t want you to be a doomer or a naive optimist.
Is That All For The Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression Transmission?

Regarding the main features of the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission, that is indeed all, but there were a few smaller things. Near the end of the transmission, Mikael Eriksson, the game director, mentioned a few things coming soon and a few things coming later down the line.
The smaller mentions of the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission are as follows:
- Coming Soon:
- Helldivers will be able to use assisted reload, as long as either the carrier or the reloader of the weapon has the corresponding backpack.
- Helldivers will have 8 emote slots instead of 4.
- Reducing dead input on stimming.
- Coming Later:
- Reduced stratagem bouncing while trying to prevent Helldivers from using cheesy spots.
- Better Hellpod steering.
- Improving enemy and player traversal, which includes environmental collision, and reducing movement penalties on grass and vegetation.
- Increasing the level cap to 300.
- Economy and resource improvements.
- Fixes to the Warbond and Superstore menus that make them easier to navigate.
- Closed beta testing that focuses on stability and balancing, and that includes getting beta test feedback from our Propaganda Commanders.
Other than these, though, that is indeed all for the Helldivers 2 Progressing Progression transmission. We’ll see some of these features later this month, so get ready for them. As always, don’t jump the gun, whether that be to praise or to bash, and do your own research to form your own opinion!
