The Helldivers 2 Illuminate enemy type roster features old foes from Helldivers 1 and new faces only in Helldivers 2. And with recent leaks, more enemies are set to appear in future updates. But what use is it dreaming about the coming fight when you don’t know how to fight the current ones?
With the roster featuring old adversaries, many Helldiver veterans already know how to defeat them. Unfortunately, the Illuminate scum have come up with new ways to fight the Helldivers and destroy freedom itself. And with the growing number of recruits, including future Xbox recruits, many still don’t know how to combat the Illuminate.
The Helldivers 2 Illuminate Enemy Types Roster

The Helldivers 2 Illuminate enemy types range from mindless zombies to swift aerial fighters. It’s important to note that even the puny, mindless zombie can be dangerous. The Illuminate enemy list includes the lowly zombie along with:
- The Voteless: Former citizens of Super Earth, warped by inhumane Illuminate experimentation into mindless husks of their former selves. The majority of the Illuminate fighting force consists of the Voteless. And although they are weak alone, they make up for it with their massive hordes.
- The Fleshmob: An atrocious monstrosity composed of multiple Voteless carcasses fused into one enemy unit. The Fleshmod acts similarly to the Terminid Charger and rushes Helldivers down to either kill them or knock them down. This grotesque monster is incredibly durable, matching the Bile Titan’s health of 6,000, and lacks a weak spot.
- The Overseer: The Overseer is a medium infantry unit that herds the Voteless, spinelessly using them as expendable guards. The Overseer comes equipped with an energy staff that acts as both a ranged and melee weapon. Additionally, the Overseer carries an energy shield, which it will use to protect itself when not engaging an enemy.
- The Crescent Overseer: An Overseer armed with a powerful plasma launcher. The Crescent Overseer separates itself from the standard Overseer by acting as mobile field artillery. Similar to the Bile Spewer, the Crescent Overseer can use its cannon to fire at the enemy directly.
- The Elevated Overseer: A flying Overseer equipped with a burst-firing plasma rifle and grenades. It soars above the battlefield with a powerful jetpack capable of quick turns and evasive maneuvers. It joins the other Overseers in patrols and guarding objectives and points of interest.
- The Watcher: Watchers are the eyes of the Illuminate. These floating machines scan for democratic lifeforms and report them to their superiors for capture or eradication. These malicious drones act as the only way for the Illuminate to call for reinforcements on the field of battle.
- The Harvester: A large, mechanical tripod equipped with powerful weapons created by the Illuminate. It’s equipped with a shield that absorbs incoming damage until it’s broken, and fires a powerful laser beam from its single eye. If the Harvester is near its enemies, it can use a burst of arcing electricity to obliterate any foe in its way.
- The Stingray: An Illuminate close air support aircraft that strafes its enemies while cutting through the skies at breakneck speeds. The Stingray intermittently sorties to the battlefield and circles around in search of targets. Once it has acquired a target, it will dive down and strafe it with explosive plasma projectiles.
- The Leviathan: A massive Illuminate warship with tremendous firepower and durability that patrols the skies. The Leviathan only appears in missions with its mission modifier. It patrols the skies and engages enemies with its four heavy cannons and ten plasma bomb ports.
- The Warpship: The Illuminate’s mode of transport from planet to planet to spread fear and destruction. The Illuminate Warpship seen in encampments can be destroyed by lowering its shields and then depositing an explosive into it. The Warships that drop off enemies during reinforcement calls must have their shields down before someone can target the tractor beam weak spot.
- The Overship: An Illuminate capital ship from the Great Host, seen in the background of planets they invaded. These capital ships appeared during Super Earth’s invasion as background decor and objectives. Helldivers could target these Great Host ships and take them down with the orbital cannons on Super Earth.
