NetEase Games just announced the Marvel Rivals zombie event, arriving on October 23, the first PvE mode in the game’s history. NetEase revealed this event with a few clips from the Marvel Zombies animated series, and there’s no better time. The reveal of this event couldn’t come at a better time as the spookiest day of the year draws near.
The Marvel Rivals zombie event isn’t the usual game event either; it’s the very first PvE mode for Marvel Rivals. Not only that, it can also act as a testbed for future events and modes that feature PvE mechanics. Game developers are no strangers to testing future mechanics with special events, so let’s see what NetEase is cooking up.
What Is The Marvel Rivals Zombie Event?
The Marvel Rivals zombie event has your team of four heroes fighting through waves of the undead. Your team of heroes may do this with their signature weapons and abilities, all of which have slightly adjusted features. For example, the Punisher’s turret automatically targets anything in its range, and Jeff can submerge to knock down his foes.
According to what we know, players can select up to five different heroes in the Marvel Rivals zombie event. These five heroes include: Thor, the god of thunder, Punisher, the vigilante, Magik, the demon queen, Blade, the vampire hunter, and Jeff. As of right now, it’s unknown if you can play multiple of the same character, so it’s best to assume that’s not possible.
After you gather your team of slayers of the undead variety, the demon one can wait; you can now fight through the undead hordes. And don’t worry, there is an objective, so your team won’t just be mindlessly slashing through walls of flesh. The objective is that your team must locate and defeat the Queen of the Dead, the evil monarch behind it all.
Unfortunately, this is everything we at Dominade could figure out from the small teaser that NetEase released hours ago.
