It’s nearing the end of the year, and the TarkovTV New Year’s announcements are getting players excited for 2026. BSG (Battlestate Games) announced that the TarkovTV New Year’s special broadcast will go live on Twitch on December 27, 2025. During that broadcast, BSG revealed a plethora of upcoming content no one has ever seen.
The TarkovTV New Year’s announcements reveal upcoming content spanning the whole year of 2026. These contents range from relatively small optimizations to entire engine upgrades, which BSG has deemed Tarkov 2.0. So let’s not stall any further and get started on the exciting new content waiting for us next year.
The Major TarkovTV New Year’s Announcements

The TarkovTV New Year’s announcements broadcast didn’t sort its announcements by proportions, so that’s where Dominade comes in. I’ll sort these announcements by their appropriate sizes so you can get a better idea of their importance. Let’s start the TarkovTV New Year’s announcements list with the so-called “Tarkov 2.0” update.
The Tarkov 2.0 Update

The title of the most ambitious announcement on this list must go to the Tarkov 2.0 update. The Tarkov 2.0 update comprises several performance and core tech optimizations that enhance the overall gameplay. A few parts that make up Tarkov 2.0 include:
- Reconnect times reduced from minutes to mere seconds
- Massive engine and code optimization across all maps
- Reworked flora for better FPS
- Faster raid loads
Hopefully, with the improved engine, the following announcements won’t feel daunting. And next on our list of TarkovTV New Year’s announcements are the new upcoming map interactions.
Map Interactions
BSG plans on adding more ways for the player to interact with the world, more than what you can do now. Ever looked at a lock and thought you could shoot it off with your powerful weaponry? Well, with the upcoming map interactions, you can, along with manually typing in passcodes to doors and setting off car alarms by shooting them.
As stated, these features, along with the upcoming ones, will work better than ever with the system upgrade.
Perks And Debuff System

In the TarkovTV stream, BSG mentioned a perk and debuff system that could change how players play Tarkov. For example, one of the debuffs you can have makes your secure container lose some of its slots. Unfortunately, examples of the perk systems are nonexistent, but Nakita did mention that it’s very similar to the perk system in Zomboid.
Drone Gameplay

Although the information on drones is minimal, what we can get should give us a good enough idea of how it plays. One possible use for drones is for reconnaissance, as seen in the Escape from Tarkov story trailer. And the other use of it could point to dropping off certain items, whether it’s supplies for friendlies, or grenades for your foes.
Animated Ragdolls And Unconscious State

During the stream, Nakita mentioned the unconscious state, something many players have requested for years. With the addition of the unconscious state, players can revive their unconscious teammates to keep them in the fight. Though this isn’t going to be easy, of course, it is Tarkov afterall.
He also mentioned animated ragdolls, but it isn’t clear if these will completely replace the ragdolls we have now. While both ragdolls have their pros and cons, animated ragdolls could help prevent characters from flying away. But we will have to wait and see how they implement these animated ragdolls to decide their quality.
PVE Prestige And Seasonal Progression

With the coming year, BSG finally gives PVE players some love with the upcoming PVE prestige system. Like its PVP counterpart, the PVE prestige system will offer exclusive rewards each time you prestige. Although these rewards may change, they are currently identical to the PVP prestige reward list.
PVP isn’t left out either; they’ll be getting the seasonal progression system that many have been asking for. The seasonal progression system will allow PVP players to experience the Escape from Tarkov beta all over again with two wipes a year. Seasonal progression will also arrive with a battlepass-style progression system featuring unique rewards.
New Maps, Events, And Quests
BSG plans to release new maps and quests in the coming months of 2026, all with exciting gameplay. These upcoming maps are Ice Breaker and End of the Line, a massive icebreaker ship and a dungeon-like map, respectively. Ice Breaker will arrive with an event that includes an extensive questline.
Later in the year, the Halloween event will arrive yet again, though there has been talk that it’ll be massive this year.
Scav Life DLC

One of the strangest TarkovTV New Year’s announcements is the Scav Life DLC, something we’ve only heard whispers about. In this DLC, you’ll have a separate Scav profile with a dedicated hideout for your scavenger. Scav Life will also contain a social hub and will allow you to have limited control over boss guards.
The Minor TarkovTV New Year’s Announcements
The TarkovTV New Year’s announcements also include a few minor features that provide more quality of life. Although not completely game-changing, these additions are still critical to the game. And the first of these announcements is the new weapon mods and gear that are coming in 2026.
New Weapon Mods And Gear
Like previous updates, the coming months will contain new gear and weapon mod options. These will consist of new attachments and varying gear with new looks, but there is one more thing that might interest you. Transparent magazines are finally coming to Tarkov in the coming months, while technically in-game, they don’t function.
New Animations

New animations for hideouts, maps, and scavs are coming in 2026, which hopefully will bring more life to Tarkov. These animations will allow you to feel more immersed in the universe of Tarkov. Unfortunately, we know next to nothing about the full extent of these animations, so all we can do is wait.
New Tutorial

BSG plans to rework the Escape from Tarkov tutorial into something that resembles the one you see in Tarkov: Arena. The new tutorial should showcase more of Tarkov’s deep game mechanics, thus allowing new players to get on their feet quicker. It might even surpass the Tarkov: Arena tutorial.
Is That It For The TarkovTV New Year’s Announcements?

Unfortunately for fans of Escape from Tarkov, this is all there is for the TarkovTV New Year’s announcements. All that we can do now is wait and see how BSG implements all of these changes into our beloved Escape from Tarkov. But it’s not like we’re starved of content, go and enjoy Escape from Tarkov, the new content will come in due time.
