Alongside the old comes the new, with the addition of Signature Weapons and Field Specs.

The Battlefield 6 classes in the open beta contain the classic Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon classes. Currently, the two open beta events will allow players to use all classes and equipment available during the playtest. Similar to previous titles, the Battlefield 6 classes comprise the famous four: Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon. These feature their gadgets and perks, but aside from the standard formula, they also feature new mechanics. The classes along with their mechanics in the Battlefield 6 open beta are as follows:

The Assault Class: The Assault class is the first to charge head-first into every battle. The equipment available to the Assault class are its:

  • Signature Weapon: Assault rifles have increased equip/unequip speeds and faster sprint recovery.
  • Signature Gadget: This class possesses two Signature Gadgets, the Adrenaline Injector and Deploy Beacon. The Adrenaline Injector increases sprint speed and decreases the effects of debuffs like flashbangs. And the Deplay Beacon lets your team spawn at its location for a limited amount.
  • Signature Trait: The Soft Landing trait reduces fall damage and negates the movement speed penalty after falling.
  • Gadgets: The Assault class has the option to either equip a second primary weapon or a single-shot grenade launcher. The grenade launcher can load either explosive rounds or thermobaric rounds, which burn targets on impact.
  • Field Spec: The Assault class only has one Field Spec during the open beta, Frontline. Frontliner enhances health regeneration, offers a second Adrenaline Injector use, and allows the player to move more while firing.

  • Gadgets: Engineers get access to the RPG-7 and Motion Sensor Anti-Tank Mine for anti-tank purposes. And they also have the Stinger Surface-to-Air guided missile for anti-air support.
  • Field Spec: The only available Field Spec for the Engineer in the open beta is the Anti-Armor Field Spec. This Field Spec increases the ammo and reload speeds for launchers. And vehicles damaged by your rockets have reduced repair efficiency.

The Support Class: The Support class helps their fellow team with heals, and crushes their enemies with their heels. The multi-role kit of the Support class contains:

  • Signature Weapon: Light Machine Guns have no sprint penalty when used.
  • Signature Gadget: The Supply Bag, once deployed on the ground, resupplies your team with ammo and improves health regeneration.
  • Signature Trait: The Quick Revive trait revives allies quicker and drags them around faster while you do so.
  • Gadgets: Supports have both the Defibrillator and Deployable Cover. The Defibrillator instantly revives teammates to full health. While the Deployable Cover protects against bullet and explosive damage, it is also repairable.
  • Field Spec: Like the previous classes, the only available Field Spec for the Support class is Combat Medic. Combat Medic allows your team to grab health packs off of you, and starts your regeneration when reviving a teammate. This Field Spec also increases the effectiveness of all defensive gadgets.
