BSG (Battlestate Games) has released the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch on March 5, 2026. This patch includes changes and fixes that players have requested for quite some time. However, one of the most surprising things that this patch changes is the change for several weapon attachment types.
The Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch features an extensive list of changes for the famous extraction shooter. As mentioned, fans have requested many of these changes, and some of these changes are great for the game. Before we get there, let’s get into the real meat and potatoes of this patch, the weapon attachment changes.
The Weapon Attachment Changes In The Escape From Tarkov 1.0.2.5 Patch

The changes in the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch are rather simple, but the attachment changes are far from it. These changes aren’t anything small either; they will affect every known weapon build in Escape from Tarkov. But will these changes hurt weapon attachments, or will they bring them to new heights?
With that question in mind, let’s begin at the very tip of the weapon, the muzzle devices.
The Changes Made To Muzzle Devices
The first change to the muzzle devices made by the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch is to the “recoil dampening” muzzle devices. The mentioned devices include flash hiders, muzzle brakes, and other muzzle attachments that primarily reduce recoil. And the changes made to these devices will certainly surprise some of you.
Recoil-damping muzzle devices now help you fight recoil much better, allowing them to deepen their role as the “recoil” muzzle devices. And some of you might ask, what about suppressors and their muzzle break combos? Sadly, they now have a smaller impact on recoil, but it’s definitely a worthwhile exchange for better ergonomics.
With these changes, muzzle breaks now reduce recoil more effectively, while suppressors punish you much less for using them. Of course, suppressors now reduce recoil less effectively, but who uses them primarily for reducing recoil anyway?
The Changes Made To Stocks And Grips
The latest patch has narrowed the gaps between all stocks, grips, and foregrips, allowing you to build your guns more for looks than stats. While this doesn’t mean late-game attachments won’t outperform budget attachments, their stat gap is just smaller. Thus, allowing players to kit out their weapons more for aesthetics rather than the meta.
With the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch, you can finally use your Desert Storm M16 or M4 and not worry about the meta.
The Changes Made To Magazines
Magazines have had their bonuses and penalties balanced out into more consistent stats with the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch. High-capacity magazines have had their ergonomic penalties heavily reduced along with their load, unload, and check speed modifiers. Not only that, magazines exclusive to weapons, such as those for machine guns, have had their ergonomic penalties significantly reduced, among other stats.
This change finally makes using machine guns and other weapons with exclusive magazines less painful to operate. So, gear up like a chad and play into your favorite heavy gunner fantasy.
Is That All In The Escape From Tarkov 1.0.2.5 Patch?

As mentioned in the beginning, the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch also includes several other changes that benefit the game. Most of these changes improve Escape from Tarkov’s speed, changes that many players have requested for a long time. The changes that improve the speed of the game are:
- Adjusted the game server launch mechanics to speed up the process of creating rooms for matches and getting players into the raid
- Adjusted the raid completion mechanics and the display of post-raid statistics to speed up the process of leaving the raid after its completion
- Optimized the launch speed of the game client and menu loading
With these changes, we’re one step closer to reducing Escape from Tarkov’s egregious out-of-raid times. Besides these long-awaited changes, the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch also includes some improvements that may satisfy some people. These changes are:
- Added a permanent display of the Zubr boat departure timer to the final part of the Terminal
- Updated the DLSS to version 4.5, and added support for new Presets
Not only that, but this patch also includes a considerable list of bug fixes, most of which contain story quest spoilers. We’ll save you the trouble and forego the bug fixes, but if you’d like, you can check the patch notes yourself. So, with that said, that is indeed all for the Escape from Tarkov 1.0.2.5 patch.
Now, once you download the patch, get back in there and find a way to get out of that damned place. You’re not going to save yourself by just sitting around now, are you?
