The Dying Light: The Beast 1.4 update offers several changes and additions to the game. Let’s start with the gameplay additions, namely the New Game+ mode added with the latest update. This highly requested mode has finally arrived, and fans couldn’t be happier.

In New Game+, you get to replay Kyle Crane’s story with the bonus of keeping your progression from your first playthrough. The kept progression includes all gear, weapons, and character progression. But New Game+ won’t be a walk in the park just because you have all of your progression with you.

Enemies in New Game+ are much stronger now to balance how powerful Kyle Crane becomes. However, you’ll encounter higher-tier weapons and loot to match the challenge of New Game+. New Game+ is also repeatable; each new run raises the difficulty and loot quality even further.

The Dying Light: The Beast 1.4 update also introduces Legend Levels, a classic end-game progression system. Once players reach level 15, all XP gets converted into Legend XP, and greater difficulties increase XP gain. Once you gain enough Legend XP, you earn a Legend Level, which is spendable for upgrades.

Players can spend Legend Levels for passive upgrades such as health, combat stats, and improvements to Beast Mode. Each earned Legend Level also raises your health by a fixed percentage. Legend Levels also introduces new rewards, including weapons, outfits, and vehicle skins.

Alongside gameplay content additions, the Dying Light: The Beast 1.4 update also adds a new graphical option. This option is known as ray tracing, a taxing but beautiful graphical option. Ray tracing does require a capable graphics card, such as Nvidia RTX cards, AMD RX 6000/7000 series, or Intel Arc cards.

A new community event, named Call of the Beast, also arrived alongside the update. The first goal of the event is to execute 1,000,000 finishes to earn the Gutbuster car skin. And the second goal is to execute 2,500,000 finishers to earn the Rascal weapon.

The Call of the Beast event will last from November 27, 2025, to December 4, 2025.
