The Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran enemies join the enemy roster with the upcoming season, Relics of Hoxxes. Season 6, Relic of Hoxxes, introduces a new biome, mission type, seasonal event, and finally, a new enemy species. And the new enemy species is precisely what we’ll talk about today.
While you and your fellow dwarves journey through the Ossuary Depths, you may encounter the Ossirans. Whether you’re doing the new Heavy Extraction mission or the Ossium Raid seasonal event, they’ll be there. Thankfully, you’ve stumbled upon this guide, and after reading it, you’ll know exactly how to take down these bugs.
The Weaknesses Of The Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran Enemies

The Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran enemies are a never-before-seen species native to Hoxxes, but they’re just like the other bugs. This recent roster of bugs was a fairly docile scavenging species local to the Ossuary Depths, but due to recent events, that has changed. The events in question are the shifting of tectonic plates, which caused the Ossirans to frenzy.
The first of the Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran enemies you’ll encounter is the Ossiran Scrab. The Ossiran Scrab is a scavenging bug that polishes the Ossuary Depths of any meat in its sight. These bugs feature armored wings that protect their squishy thorax underneath, which has a slight orange glow.
The best way to take down these cleaners is to shoot their vulnerable underbellies while they’re in flight. And this may seem easy at first, but Ossiran Scrabs are never alone; they move around in massive swarms. And this becomes more obvious if you disturb their nests, as the last dwarf who did that lived just long enough to see his own skeleton.
Since they’re a swarm type, CC (Crowd Control) protocol is optimal for victory against these Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran enemies. So, fire, ice, and loads of bullets should do the trick against these flying pests, but don’t get too focused on the enemies above you. The next, and last, of the Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran enemies will show exactly why.
The final Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran enemy is the Ossiran Pit Jaw, a terrifying ambush artist. The Ossiran Pit Jaw is a close relative of the Ossiran Scrab, albeit much more patient in its hunting strategy. Instead of swarming our beloved miners, the Pit Jaw lies in wait below the surface with its massive four-pronged jaw.
After it detects movement, the Pit Jaw launches upward and snaps its jaws closed to catch its prey. You can save your fellow dwarf by blowing the Pit Jaw all to hell, making sure not to hit your friendly dwarf while doing it. However, you can avoid all of this if you pay attention to the tips of its jaws poking through the dirt.
If you’re observant or lucky enough to spot the Pit Jaw before it grabs you, you know exactly what to do. But if you don’t, here’s a hint, boom, boom, and an even bigger BOOM. The first two booms are gunfire, and the last boom is the explosion of a satchel charge, in case bullets aren’t enough.
Is That It For The Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran Enemies?
Unfortunately, that is all for the Deep Rock Galactic Ossiran enemies, but that should change in the future. The Ossirans have never appeared until the upcoming release of Relics of Hoxxes, the sixth season of Deep Rock Galactic. So, it’s likely that there’s more to come from the Ossiran species on Hoxxes.
Until the release of Relics of Hoxxes and the subsequent additions to the Ossiran species, enjoy the new content coming on January 29, 2026. And remember, if you don’t rock and stone, you’re never coming home, so ROCK AND STONE!
