It’s the beginning of 2026, and CM IMMERSIVE has announced the release of Into the Radius 2 1.0 in Q2 2026. This announcement is a stellar way to start the year for fans of Into the Radius 2, but what does Into the Radius 2 1.0 hold for fans of the series? Thankfully, CM IMMERSIVE has detailed what players should expect for the 1.0 release of Into the Radius 2.
Into the Radius 2 1.0 will release as the foundation for any future updates and additions, essentially releasing the way the developers intended. With its foundations laid out, Into the Radius 2 can begin adding in more exciting features to the game. But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s take a look at what the 1.0 release has in store.
What You’ll Find In Into The Radius 2 1.0

The Story
The featured addition of the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release is the inclusion of a proper story, just like the first game. The story will reveal itself as you play the usual Into the Radius 2 that you’ve grown accustomed to. As the story becomes clear, you’ll learn about the organization you work for and several other characters.
On top of the fully fledged story, you may also come across some familiar faces, and some new faces along with them. While they won’t be fully interactable NPCs, they’ll still offer some friendly company in the bleak and hostile environment. However, for the story to work, the way the mission system works has changed; this also includes side missions.
Explorers can expect new sets of unique missions that can include mission items, most of which are interactable. Side missions will also get glossed over with some improvements and changes to freshen up their gameplay. While the details of the story and missions are completely unknown, it’s still exciting to see what Into the Radius 2 1.0 has for us.
The New Weapons And Equipment
With the release of Into the Radius 2 1.0 and its subsequent story, weapons and gear are getting further improvements and additions. These improvements specifically mean that more weapons will receive the same modularity as other weapons. Speaking of modularity, new weapons are also coming to the game, all with modularity built in from the start.
And guns aren’t the only new additions; the more explosive type of projectile is finally getting added. Grenades will come in the form of hand grenades and grenades that you load into underbarrel grenade launchers. Interestingly, underbarrel grenade launchers will let you use them by themselves without the need to mount them on a weapon.
Flares are also making a debut in the game, allowing you to light up a dark area with a far-reaching light. It’s unknown whether these flares are the handheld or projectile kind, but only time will tell. The developers also mentioned a few other items will make an appearance, but it’s too early for them to reveal any more than they already have.
Finally, CM IMMERSIVE also revealed that a full weapon and gear painting system will make its first appearance in the series. This system will expand customization, allowing you and your friends to showcase your individuality more than ever before. So tell us, will you customize yourself to be tacticool or silly when Into the Radius 2 1.0 comes out?
The Map Changes
While the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release won’t include a new large map, which we’ll discuss later, it will feature some new sights to see. The first of these sights is the new transition areas you’ll move through when switching locations. These areas will include unique gameplay and visuals, unlike the current boring placeholder transition UI.
The tutorial also receives some changes to its location, which will hopefully improve the learning experience of new explorers. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything more than its location change, so we’ll have to wait and see what else has changed with the tutorial. Though if you’re here to see if a new location will be added, then you’re in luck.
The Into the Radius 2 1.0 release will include a new small final location with its own unique features, similar to Pechorsk Castle. And with the inclusion of the new story, we may receive more answers about the Pechorsk anomaly. But alas, only time will tell; we will have to wait until Q2 2026 to see the possible conclusion of the Into the Radius storyline.
What’s Not Coming In Into The Radius 2 1.0

Sadly, the Into the Radius 2 1.0 release includes a list of features that won’t be implemented in its initial release. But don’t worry, the 1.0 release is just the beginning of a great future of many additions and improvements for Into the Radius 2. Unfortunately, Into the Radius 2 1.0 won’t include:
- A new large map
- A shooting range
- 3-4 player coop
- Localization besides English
- New platform ports
- Native modding
As sad as it is to see so many features not getting added to the 1.0 release, this is still a major milestone for Into the Radius 2. Into the Radius 2 has finally escaped early access and is in a state that the developers are happy with. These features not being in the 1.0 release doesn’t mean they’re lost to time forever.
So don’t worry, CM IMMERSIVE will get to these features eventually, after they stabilize the 1.0 release by optimizing and fixing bugs. But until then, enjoy the last moments of the early access version of Into the Radius 2, it’s finally coming to an end.
