Announced on May 13th, 2025, Sakamoto Days season one was revealed to be getting a part two on Netflix. It will add eleven more episodes. The trailer for it made fans even more excited for the new episodes, despite some having mixed opinions.
With the help of Kroi, a Japanese band, allowing Netflix to use their song ‘Method’ for part two’s intro. Knowing this, fans are already pumped for the fights. Not only did fans notice the new intro, but the addition of characters and some returning from part one.
Will Sakamoto Days Return To Its Fanbase?

Based on the manga under the same name, the Sakamoto Days anime was made and released on January 11, 2025. It had eleven episodes before this announcement. However, fans quickly found the problem with the anime that the manga doesn’t have, that being how slow it is.
While some fans didn’t like the rather slower pace of the first part, part two seems to be more focused on the action. The trailer for part two showed several fights, some in places you wouldn’t expect, like a skyscraper or a mini store, for example.
While the locations are only part of the fight, the characters are the main focus, allowing the anime to show off how powerful they are. We still follow the main character, Taro Sakamoto, a former assassin who retired to open a store and start a family.
What if you were to threaten and take everything from said assassin killer while trying to kill him yourself? The results aren’t pretty, as he returns to his ways despite not being in as good shape as he used to be.
Taro Sakamoto starts hunting each assassin who either hunts him or is related to the bounty placed on his head. While he was expecting normal assassins at first, they quickly grew stronger, showing large skill gaps despite their age, as they had weapons or powers that gave them a significant edge in a fight.
This doesn’t stop him, as the simple threat of harming his family ignites a rage in him. Moreover, it causes him to return to his old ways. Taro’s strength is also shown to grow with each fight, while also angering him more with each new opponent.
We also follow Shin Asakura, a former hitman trained by Taro and sent to kill him. However, after failing, he joins and works for Taro. While Taro doesn’t have powers, Shin does come with psychic-like powers, such as mind-reading and controlling others against their will.
