Netflix’s Devil May Cry anime is officially dropping on April 3rd 2025 and Netflix just revealed a surprising detail, its opening theme, which will be ‘Rollin’’ by Limp Bizkit. The chaotic demon-slaying energy of DMC is getting a nu-metal blast from the past and the community is already buzzing about it.
Netflix’s Devil May Cry Anime
Devil May Cry fans have been waiting for an anime adaptation that delivers and part of the community thinks this could be it.
Studio Mir is producing the series, the powerhouse behind popular shows like Lookism, My Adventures With Superman, and the upcoming X-Men ’97.
On top of that the showrunner and executive producer of the Netflix animated series Castlevania, Adi Shankar is directing the series, while Alex Larsen is handling the script. But the biggest casting news might be Johnny Yong Bosch’s addition, who played Nero in Devil May Cry 4 and 5 games as the voice actor for Dante.
Despite all this, longtime fans might still have mixed feelings since Dante’s iconic game voice actor, Reuben Langdon, isn’t returning. Parts of the community and Netflix seem pretty confident that Bosch can pull it off and we’ll see how he brings the swagger when the series drops.
What to Expect from the Anime

The teaser that dropped in late 2024 already showed fans a glimpse of the animation. Although the plot details are still not revealed, the series is expected to draw heavy inspiration from the games, notably the early 2000s era of the franchise.
Fans are speculating Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening, which delved into Dante’s early years to most likely be the source behind this instalment of the series. This suggests that fans might get a chance to witness Dante’s evolution into the legendary demon hunter.
Although the cast and characters are not official yet, fans can expect to see familiar faces from the franchise such as Vergil, Dante’s twin brother and Trish, a demon who resembles Dante’s mother.
The first season is confirmed to have 8 episodes and unlike Netflix’s usual weekly release schedule that fans are used to, this time all episodes will drop at once.
Why Limp Bizkit?
Limp Bizkit is one of the most recognizable names in nu-metal and ‘Rollin’’ was massive in the early 2000s. Some fans love the choice, seeing it as a throwback to the era when DMC first gained popularity. The high-energy music and rebellious attitude seem to match Devil May Cry’s essence perfectly.
Will this be the Devil May Cry Anime fans deserve?
The 2007 Devil May Cry anime was fine but it didn’t fully capture the insane over-the-top style that makes the games legendary. This time with an all-star creative team, a badass opening song, and a binge-friendly release format, fans could finally get an anime that does justice to Dante and the stylish demon-killing chaos they love.
