RoboCop: Rogue City was released in November 2023, and some are discovering it now, becoming more curious about the game. With the Steam Fall Sale happening in two months, they’re thinking about what to add to their wishlists.
However, while the game has many good reviews, that doesn’t mean that the game is worth buying for some people. With that being said, are RoboCop’s games worth buying, or are people better off just watching the movies today?
RoboCop: Rogue City’s FPS Problem

Robocop: Rogue City is a well-crafted game, clearly with a large amount of love and soul put into it. The developers, Teyon, wanted the game to be as close to feeling like you’re RoboCop while playing the game.
It’s a rather simple idea, with the player being RoboCop, the game sets out what to do from the get-go. That causes some issues in multiple places in-game, with it being rather easy or boring from time to time.
You’re meant to go in, shoot, and stop the bad guys, and you basically win the level, a simple gameplay idea. The problem is that it’s the only massive part of the gameplay, with little to no changes to it.
You may find a puzzle or two, taking two or three minutes, but then it’s back to shooting and walking. There’s a large amount of dialogue when it chooses, but they only really affect the ending, not what happens now.
There’s another problem with gameplay; you can’t run, but instead do a light jog, which makes sense for RoboCop. That doesn’t make it a good reason, with complaints like people feeling extremely slow popping up often when researching.
The problem isn’t that it’s a first-person shooter, but that’s all it is, a walk-and-gun with bits of a story. There’s some good in-game that people can find, but the game can get rather repetitive after an hour or two.
There’s one last issue that I found recently, which, truthfully, pisses me off just a tiny bit after finding out. There’s a sequel to RoboCop: Rogue City that changes so little, and truly could have been a DLC in-game. It was released on July 17th, 2025, and the story seemingly continues shortly after where the first ended.
With tax, getting both games costs around eighty USD, after playing the first one to completion, doesn’t seem worth it. While I can recommend the games to hardcore RoboCop fans, I think it’s rather worth it to just watch the movies instead.
