Another update has arrived for Insurgency Sandstorm, and it’s the Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight update. This update introduces new additions, challenges, and even a sneak peek at the contents of an upcoming update. This update also addresses a neglected component of the game to bring it up to speed with the rest of the game.
The Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Site update arrived for players on February 24, 2026. This update was released just four months after the previous update, Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Shell Shock. So, let’s see what content the latest update has in store for its players and see how it changes the game.
The Contents Of The Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight Update

The Upcoming Hold Map

The first addition on the list for the Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight update is the teaser for the upcoming map, Hold. While a work in progress, we can see from the teaser that Hold takes place in a police station. And that police station is getting assaulted by insurgent forces, caught in a violent takeover by the mentioned insurgents.
A glance at the teaser images makes it clear that Hold features many inspirations from the Ministry map. You can see it in its two, possibly three, story office and government-style architecture. Hold also seems to feature an outside area in the front, and possibly the side, of the station with overturned cars and burning rubble.
The Improvements To The Mod Editor

The Insurgency series has modding in its very DNA, dating back to the original Insurgency mod for the Source engine. But until recently, the modding scene for Insurgency Sandstorm was in a rough state. Thanks to the Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight update, modding has become more streamlined.
After working with the modding community for the last two updates to address certain hurting points, they’ve improved the modding experience. One of the ways they accomplished this was by allowing modders to finally create audio mods by giving mod creators their Wwise project. You can find out how to add custom sounds to the game here.
The developers of Insurgency Sandstorm also increased the mod size that modders can upload to the mod editor to two GB. The developers of Insurgency Sandstorm have also created a guide that walks through the process of creating, uploading, and updating mods here.
The Content Additions

Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight adds a couple of gameplay additions to the game. It adds three new hard challenges for players to complete and two CQB-oriented optics that are usable on all of your favorite guns. The mentioned hard challenges are:
- Kill 500 enemies with Fire Support as a Commander
- Win 100 rounds without dying
- Perform 500 headshots with a sidearm
The new optics in question are the Romero 8T for the security team and the PKO-6 for the insurgent team. The Romero 8T provides a wide sight picture in a familiar housing similar to a holographic sight. The PKO-6 is a low-profile compact sight that doesn’t sacrifice any peripheral vision for the user.
The Cosmetic Additions

The Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight update also adds several premium cosmetic additions to the game. The additions include character skins for both security and insurgents, along with weapon skins for both factions. The character and weapon skins for both teams are as follows:

Is That All For The Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight Update?

Unfortunately, that is indeed everything in the Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight update, besides the bug fixes, of course. The development team behind the game has shrunk in recent times, so content drops are sadly shrinking in size. But updates and patches are still coming out for the beloved realistic shooter, so don’t lose all hope.
Now go and try out the new content in the Insurgency Sandstorm Operation Clear Sight update. You could even try to win 100 rounds without dying. Good luck out there, soldier.
