The Weeknd previously starred in HBO’s The Idol (2023). It featured the life of a model named Jocelyn. The star falls under the spell of a club owner/Cult Leader who goes by the name Tedros.
Fans guess that the plot of Hurry Up Tomorrow is similar to Misery. It is a 1990 film where after an accident a nurse takes care of a novelist, who is also his fan. At first, the nurse is kind and nurturing until her admiration turns to an unhealthy obsession. We can see a similar scene in the trailer where we can see Abel tied to a bed by Anima.
