The upcoming days will be exciting for Honkai: Star Rail Players. The Latest Developer Radio Version 3.0 Amphoreus finally considered the long-standing player complaint. It addresses that the older characters keep struggling to compete with newly released characters and clear the end-game content.
Characters like Blade and Jingliu have been overshadowed. Players are finding difficulty in deploying their highly invested favorite characters on the battlefield against powerful bosses and increased hurdles.
Older Honkai: Star Rail Characters are Getting Buffs to Reclaim Their Spot in the HSR META
Honkai: Star Rail Players were always in a zone of frustration due to the growing imbalance in Honkai: Star Rail. When older characters get suppressed due to the release of new characters’ power levels in comparison, this phenomenon is known as “powercreep” in video games.
However, Honkai: Star Rail is known for never touching the combat power of characters once they are officially released, until and unless of rare exceptions or technical difficulties in the character’s kit. But, the declaration of their intent to buff the older characters is a step outside of the box.
Currently, there is no information on how these power boosts will affect the old characters in the game. Maybe Honkai: Starrail could go back and directly rework the character’s active or passive abilities.
There is one more possibility of creating separate items or special types of equipment that can only be equipped by certain characters, which will buff their stats or allow them to have altered abilities. This is one of the ways to handle this issue, which other Gacha Games have dealt with.
Considering the recent player feedback, Honkai: Star Rail made this announcement as a part of a larger response. The developers also disclosed that they will allow players to modify their way of experiencing the game’s story a little bit more.
For instance, a skip button will be added, which allows the players to skip certain dialogues that elaborate more about the lore and background in case they are not interested in such information. The same will happen with the puzzle sections as well.
