Reading Time: 3 minutes

We’ve witnessed the emergence of the terrifying Helldivers 2 Vote Snatchers with the release of the Devoid of Liberty update. They quickly overwhelmed Helldivers in the first days of their appearance, but the Helldivers can overcome any challenge. And thanks to some vigilant Helldivers, their weaknesses have also come to light.

The Helldivers 2 Vote Snatchers feature two new Illuminate units, both horrifically mutated and altered citizens of Super Earth. These amalgamations are known as the Wretch and the Crusher, but they have a few colloquial names that Helldivers commonly use. But we aren’t here to discuss names; we’re here to take them, so let’s look at their weaknesses.

The Weaknesses Of The Helldivers 2 Vote Snatchers

As mentioned, the Helldivers 2 Vote Snatchers roster consists of four units: the Crusher, Fleshmob, Wretch, and Voteless. We’ve already covered the Fleshmob and Voteless, so we’ll set those two aside and move on to the two new opponents. However, the methods of dispatching all four of these monstrosities are quite similar.

The Crusher

The Crusher is a massive wall of flesh with a massive health pool, and carries around a massive club. It features a slightly larger health pool than the Fleshmob, with 6,000 HP instead of 5,000 HP, but it has another trick up its sleeve. Unlike any other enemy in the game, besides the Terminid Stalker, it can regenerate its own health.

This means that Helldivers must either eliminate them with a massive instance of damage or sustained DPS. But there is one weakness you can exploit to take it out much quicker. A few heavy penetration rounds to a Crusher’s helmet will pop it right off, leaving its head completely exposed – a very weak head, mind you.

So, the two methods are either hit it with high and consistent DPS, such as a lot of bullets, fire, or explosives, or take it out with precision. High and consistent DPS can be achieved with many weapons and strategems, though preferably the more accurate ones. Precision only requires a weapon with at least heavy pen and high accuracy.

The Wretch

The Wretch in the Helldivers 2 Vote Snatchers is not dissimilar to the Hunters of the Terminids. Both rely on their high mobility to pounce and swarm a Helldiver, but the Wretch has a special quirk that can make it stronger, yet weaker, than the Hunter. The fastest way to take down a Wretch isn’t to target its head or body, but its limbs.

It’s no surprise that the Necromorphs of Dead Space fame heavily inspired the Wretch, and their weakness is just as inspired. When its head is gone, the Wretch will lose all sight of its target, but it will then flail its sharp claws around, hitting anything in its way. Targeting its torso is viable, but it’s slower compared to the best option.

Targeting a Wretch’s limbs will take it down in seconds, and this can be done with anything imaginable, even with melee weapons. Though you’ll preferably want full-auto weapons or shotguns to dispatch the hordes of Wretches you’ll face. Fire and explosives are also an effective way to deal with Wretch hordes, along with stunning and gas effects.

Is That All For The Helldivers 2 Vote Snatchers?

That is all you need to know about the Helldivers 2 Vote Snatchers, at least for now. Their current roster could be expanded in the future, liberty forbid, but we only need to combat the two new units as of the Devoid of Liberty update. So, prepare yourself with the knowledge you’ve learned here and arm yourself with the appropriate weapons.
