Save the Children is an organization that ensures children have access to healthcare, food, and education while fighting for their rights.
The charity runs an auction featuring authentic Helldivers 2 items generously provided by Arrowhead Games, alongside direct donations. The auction includes a B-01 Helmet replica signed by Arrowhead, a limited edition DualSense controller with packaging signed by Arrowhead, and many more.
Why Did The Freedom Alliance Partner With Save The Children, A Helldivers 2 Charity Story
A Helldivers 2 charity was organized by the Freedom Alliance and Save the Children. It began with the liberation of Vernen Wells in May of 2024, leaving a mark on the history of Helldivers 2. Helldivers had to choose to rescue Marfark, containing a new weapon, or Vernen Wells, holding thousands of civilians trapped in the remains of Super Citizen Anne’s Hospital For Very Sick Children, from the Automatons.
Helldivers from across the world unanimously chose to save Vernen Wells, saving 4,311 civilians, mostly children. Marking the day that Helldivers bravely chose to save children over some new weapon. Helldivers celebrated their victory and righteous choice, but what could come from saving fictional children, you may ask?
Arrowhead was shocked by their players’ choices, so they decided to reward them with something greater than an in-game reward. Arrowhead donated 4,311 USD to the Save the Children organization, leaving Helldivers even more satisfied with their decision. And just a year later, the Freedom Alliance launched a charity event allowing anyone and everyone to donate to the cause.
Now, everyone has a chance to come together again and make a difference in the lives of countless children worldwide. People from within the community and beyond can donate to the cause. The money raised for this charity has already reached 46,000 USD and continues to rise.
