Fantastic Four: First Steps was announced by Kevin Feige back at San Deigo Comic-Con on November 8, 2022. It’s the first film in MCU’s Phase Six. The filming was set to begin in 2023.
The movie is star-studded with talents like Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Susan Storm, Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the Thing, Julia Garner as Silver Surfer, and Ralph Ineson as Galactus.
According to what we’ve seen so far, The Fantastic Four will be facing Galactus and Silver Surfer to protect Earth. Galactus is a cosmic entity that consumes planets to survive and helps the Marvel continuity. Galactus will be accompanied by Silver Surfer who is an alien humanoid that has metallic skin.
Recently Robert Downey Jr. was also cast as Dr. Doom in phase six of Marvel Cinematic Universe. Dr. Doom is a supervillain from Latveria, a fictional country in Europe. He wears an armor suit made from titanium alloy and vibranium. This gives him super strength, agility, and the ability to fly. There’s a high chance of Dr. Doom having an appearance in the movie. This is due to his villain storyline in Fantastic Four (2005).
How Will the Upcoming Fantastic Movie be Different From its Past Installments?
The last two Fantastic Four movies had a different main cast. Chris Evans played Johnny Storm/the Human Torch, and Jessica Alba as Susan Storm. Moreover, Michael Chiklis portrayed the Thing, Ioan Gruffudd was Mr. Fantastic. This time around Fantastic Four will be set in a different universe. Meaning, it will be different from older Fantastic Four movies like Fantastic Four (2005) and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released on July 25, 2025, and kicking off phase six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This will be the first time we’ll get to see Galactus, Who first appeared in the comic Fantastic Four #48 which was way back in 1966.
