Fans Have Long Awaited the Introduction of Valorant Crossplay, But It’s Not Out Yet
As of August 2, 2024, Valorant has officially come out on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles following the limited beta that began on June 14, 2024.
Although console players on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S can play with and against one another, Valorant does not support crossplay between console players and PC players. The game only has partial cross-platform support. Since players on both consoles are on the same playing field, no one has the advantage over the others.
Valorant Mobile officially launched only in China on April 21, 2025, with pre-registration for early access also available on the same date. Other regions are expected to follow later, potentially in 2026. The game features a shorter match duration and controls optimized for touch screens. The mobile version will not feature crossplay with PC players or console players.

Riot Games has stated that they want to maintain a fair and balanced competitive environment. The input differences between PC and console are huge. Hence, mixing these two could lead to an unfair advantage for PC players.
It could also introduce aim-assist for console players and create balancing issues in the game, leading to frustration among PC players.
Since there is no crossplay between multiple devices, it will not affect the ranked playlist for gamers. Valorant PC and consoles have a unique feature called cross-progression, and all of their cosmetics carry over between the two platforms. However, the competitive rank does not do so. The rank and MMR are separate between the platforms.
The game has evolved much over the years. With Riot Games celebrating its fifth anniversary this year, fans have been looking for more consistent updates for the title. As players yearn for a Valorant Crossplay update, it is yet to be seen what the developers hold for the future.
