Dead by Daylight may be in a rough spot with the changes coming in the next update with survivors. While many, if not most, people are focused on that part, others are looking at the next chapter’s playable characters.
This part seems to be the most exciting for with both roles, agreeing that characters are well-made and look amazing. While it doesn’t outshine the very large problems, the chapter has already marked its place in Dead by Daylight!
Dead by Daylight Walks Deeper Into Folklore

Dead by Daylight doesn’t always need to have a really crazy idea when it comes to making a new killer. A large number are based on slashers and ideas based on stories from around the world, each helping expand it.
The new killer is more based on folklore from Asia, once again adding to the list of killers based around there. The Oni, Spirit, and Onryō are well known, but the killer Doctor is also based on something from Asia.
Back on topic, the new killer, The Krasue, is based on a popular tale told around Asia, this one from Thailand. The Krasue is a woman who was cursed to lure others alone, revealing that she’s a head with her innards out.
She returns the gore back into Dead by Daylight, with her organs being shown while she floats as a head. Thankfully, she will still be getting cosmetics, most if not all being around traditional asian and Thai themes.
Her special ability allows her to go between forms, one with her body and one without, being a floating head. Both forms have their pros and cons, making it so players will swap when one falls behind during situations.
The body form makes her into a basic killer, with an ability to shoot organs, infecting survivors who get hit. Infected survivors don’t notice much at first, but if infected long enough, they lose the ability to be healed.
The second part is the head form, making her louder, but dealing damage to infected survivors with a large attack. Hitting a noninfected survivor isn’t a waste, though, as it’ll add infection each hit, until fully infected.
The head also gains the ability to move extremely fast for some time at the cost of lowering the player’s view greatly. This makes it risky to use when chasing a survivor, but offers a great reward if used correctly.
A friend from Thailand was questioned on what they thought about the killer’s design, with them knowing more about it. “She looks and feels great, and is faithful to the original folklore!” is the response he gave when questioned.
Overall, while not everything may be as loved, the next killer is a large step in the right direction!
