According to well-known leaker @Iron_S1ghts on X (formerly known as Twitter), several new Helldivers 2 enemy types will soon arrive on the battlefield. The leaks first surfaced on March 28, 2024, before the Illuminates were given life in Helldivers 2. Following the news, the community is excited to see what new challenges the Illuminate will bring and how they must adapt.
What Threats Do These New Enemy Types Pose To The Helldivers?
The new Helldivers 2 enemy types are suspected to arrive with several new dangers to the field of battle. Firstly, leaks have revealed a powerful enemy named the Illusionist Cultist, capable of conjuring lightning to protect itself and summoning various enemy types through unknown undemocratic means.
Secondly, the Illuminate Zealot Cultist, an enemy wielding an empowered whip that can reach beyond average melee range, with abilities that warp reality to create lightning and void gates that bring a new minion-like enemy type into the fray, similar to the voteless already on the field.
As mentioned above, the Zealot can summon a new minion to its aid, the Ghoul, a small enemy roughly half the size of an average Helldiver, that can pounce on its prey like the Hunter and Pouncer of the Terminid menace.
Fourthly, the Outcast Cultist specializes in long-range attacks by firing a beam while protected by a shield that only exposes its face. And if approached, it can either cowardly teleport away or idiotically face the Helldivers in melee combat with dual-wielding blades.
Along with the Xenobite Cultist, an enemy that focuses on melee similarly to the Overseer’s staff fighting style but lacks the protection of its heavier cousin, allowing it to utilize lightning-fast speeds bordering on teleportation to close the distance for its quick melee attacks.
Finally, a mage-like enemy wielding a scepter that can cast many different abilities that are no doubt meant to destroy our way of life. Abilities that can only be described as balls of pure energy, possibly used as projectiles, and a fully front-facing shield they use to spinelessly hide behind.

As more information about these dissidents continues to surface, we draw closer to their imminent arrival, but until that day comes, we will be ready with democracy in our hearts for a battle not seen in 100 years.
