Recently, on April 10, 2026, Glitch Productions announced the screening date and locations for the finale of The Amazing Digital Circus. Fans became irritated about the limited screening locations for such a major occasion, but that’s not all. Fans in countries that couldn’t screen the finale are left to wait for two weeks before it arrives on YouTube.

The two-week wait meant that fans would have to fight tooth and nail to go unspoiled for the biggest finale in recent indie history. Fans were understandably dissatisfied because not only did they have to prepare for a fight, but they also felt betrayed. Fans felt this way because Glitch Productions stated that episodes would always arrive on YouTube first.

While fans are rightfully infuriated, the two-week delay was the result of Glitch Productions fighting their own battle for their fans. Kevin Lerdwichagul, the CEO of Glitch Productions, states, “The two-week gap came out of a lot of back and forth.” He also states, “Theaters were originally asking for a minimum of a month.”

Not only did Glitch Productions fight hard to shorten the delay, but getting The Amazing Digital Circus into theaters is a part of a bigger fight. That mentioned fight is the fight to get more indie productions onto the big screen. As Kevin stated, “This one event has the potential to change how the entire industry views indie animation.”

While fans are allowed to be angry, fans must understand that the actions of Glitch Productions are genuine. They’re taking a huge risk to show the world that indie animation deserves a spot on the big screen. In the words of Kevin, “It opens the door, not just for us, but for many creators, many projects, and the future of original, creator-led storytelling.”

If you want to help in the battle for indie animation and animation as a whole, you can do so right now. All you need to do is respectfully contact your local theater about screening the finale of The Amazing Digital Circus. And if there’s enough demand, your theater will request Glitch Productions to screen the finale in your area.
